☆ENGLISH ONLY☆コミュのGolden Week

So-called “Golden Week” was over in Japan.
Even if I can have successive holidays,
it is not so happy for me.
Almost all Japanese have successive holidays
at the same time, and so traffic jams are terrible.

Golden Week of this year was not rainy at all,
but it was unusual.
Until the end of this April, it was cold, but
in this May it has become hot rapidly.
It seems that there was no spring in this year.

Though there are many social problems,
Japan is peaceful.
In South Korea a vedette boat sank.
Was it attacked by a submarine of North Korea?
South and North Korea are tensed up.

A general strike has been called in Greece.
Greece has faced a financial crisis, and
it is said that Italy, Spain and Portugal are also same.

Can Eurocurrency work well from now on?
Is Eurocurrency unreasonable from the beginning?
European countries have each strong identity
as nation.

Identity as nation is more important than
economic policy.
I am afraid of war in the Korean Peninsula,
and of bankrupty of Eurocurrency.

I worry about some of these things. There could well be a conflict between South and North Korea but I think it is not likely that America or China will get involved. America will want to stay out just to be sure that China stay out and China wouldn't risk an open conflict with a country that owes them a lot of money.
I don't have much sympathy for Greece. I think a lot of the problems are caused by the "tax avoidance" culture in Greece. Some Greek people even say it's their duty to avoid paying tax. I don't think you can have your cake and eat it too. Anyone who has been to Greece will know that most businesses run dodgy books. Try asking for a receipt and you will see it right away.
Ian:"Some Greek people even say it's their duty to avoid paying tax. "

Siriously...?

I am also really worried about all this problems about the globe =(
And it affects us in many ways.
Specially the ones living in Europe and Japan.

To a degree, that's a business practice worldwide. Otherwise, there would be no need for tax accountants and cash-only shops with receipts that have no store name on them.
And the custom of running dodgy books has been a tradition in the Middle East for well over a thousand years.

I guess I'm one of the few insensitive bastards here, because I don't worry about those at all. Why? Well, as I see it, if I cannot change something, there's no point worrying about it. And if I *can* change it, worrying about it makes no sense. There's enough stress in our lives as it is, no need to create more.
Just wanted to agree with your statement ''It seems that there was no spring in this year" I agree. It's so humid outside now!! In Yamagata (where I live) it was cold the first few days of GW and then suddenly it became so hot... It changed from being jacket weather to t-shirt weather in a matter of days. Even at night it's hot. Though it rained all day today...so it sorta cooled down, but it's still very humid. Where did spring go? Very strange...
>> Ian
