Hey Guys

Since i turned into 20, my dad is going on my nerves like 'You're old enough for serious relationship and marriage elif.Move your ass!"

Even my 18 years old sister have a fiance...

Don't mistake my dad but he's a Turk and grown up in Turkey with really conservative parents..He also married my mom with 19..

Marriage and beeing good housewife were always present topics at home. He even forced me to learn how to cook since i am 12 (I am thankful tho, i love cooking!w )

Now i had longlasting controversy with my mum about this topic.
What is a good housewife?
Being at home? Caring about children?Don't even work?Just doing house-cleaning and cooking?

I asked my japanese friend about this.

He said he don't want to have classy housewife. He think this kind of wifes get weight and don't care about themselves anymore.! ww
So i guess he want to have a sexy confident woman by his side who cares about himself, children AND herself.

So what do you think?

I am learning to cook better. [/I can only bake...so working past that.]

I am the kind of woman that would put family before job.
But I am also slightly independent in the fact I have opinions, and I'll voice them.
I hope to be good enough for my husband

But if I want to spend time with friends, work, etc, I should have the right to.
As long as you are perfect for him, that's enough.
You donot have to be perfect for anybody.
There are no good girls anymore >.<

Finding a nice is is RARE もうやだ〜(悲しい顔)
You should do whatever you want. Do YOU want to be a housewife? If yes, then go for it, if not, don't be one because your parents expect you to.

A perfect wife in my opinion is someone that makes her husband very happy.
I can cook and I can clean, I can work and I can dress up nice.
But the most important thing is that I can do is to make him laugh.
Apparently, that is my best quality to my husband.

If you fall in love, all housework training will go out of the window.
Your better half won’t care that you burnt the toast.
You won’t care if he cooks for you and potato was uncooked.

So I think this is about your father’s view, not actually being the perfect house wife.
You don’t know what your future husband will be like yet.

I had to leave my family back in Japan in order to be with my husband and
I do miss them – but being with my husband was what I chose and
I am happy with my choice. I know that some of them weren’t entirely happy.
That, I have to live with, for the rest of my life, but it was worth it to me.

Their feelings & opinions vs. my feeling for my husband,
the second one was greater and essential to me, doesn’t mean
the first one didn’t matter. I will live with the guilty feeling that
caused by Japanese tradition, me being the eldest
yet not taking care of the family, for the rest of my life,
but I will not regret my choice.

So if your father’s opinion is very important to you,
I think you have to choose something that suit both you and him (or meet in the middle)

Traditional housewife qualities – looking nice, cleaning well,
cooking well, etc, aren’t bad things so in the mean time,
it won’t hurt you to continue practising.
I would say a good wife is someone who loves and does her best for her family.

Some people think being a housewive is boring, but people who say that are boring, I think. A housewife can be the most creative job in the world: you have no boss and everything is up to you.
I do not know what is generally considered "perfect," but I know what I look for in a girlfriend. I look for someone who could easily be my friend. She would like metal and techno like I do; she could live with my pets; she would happily game with me. I am looking for a woman like that.
20 is too early to get married. Go and live a little first!ぴかぴか(新しい)
I like to see how someone treats waiters and waitresses before
things get serious. If someone is really rude to them I imagine
it won't be long before they start treating me the same.
For me a good partner is someone who is walking the same
path. If you have some common ground it can really help a
relationship. I prefer girls who are smarter than I am. I don't
really mind the whole cooking thing. I'm a reasonable cook and
where I fail there are some very good restaurants that will deliver
food to your door.
It's a really tough question because every girl is different. Maybe
someone I can sit with for hours just reading is the perfect wife.

ウッシッシ (those of you reading from mobile phones probably can't see the ↑video)

In all seriousness though, I gotta agree with Eva. I've dated some really pretty girls, some very sexy girls, and one that could cook some really awesome meals, but I have the most fun with my wife, and we can always make each other laugh. I think the key is to be able to read your mate, and know when they need a good laugh. Laughing helps relieve a lot of daily stress, and you can't go wrong when you see your mates pretty smile うれしい顔
I'd say the most important thing is whether you feel comfortable with being a housewife or not, not to simply try to follow someone else's ideal model.

After all, it will come down to whether your attitude and vision towards your life will fit your partner's and vice versa.
http://news.livedoor.com/article/detail/4224763/

you will be fine as long as you are going against whatever this lady is doing,
I was engaged to an American for 5 years, married to a Filipina for 11 years, and now I am dating a Japanese woman.

In my experience, I would say compatibility is the most important requirement of a happy relationship:
Do you share the same likes and dislikes?
Can you have an intelligent conversation with each other?
Do you have the same attitude about spending and saving money? (This is VERY important - I read somewhere that more divorces occur because of money issues than cheating.)
If you have the same interests and habits, it makes it a LOT easier to get along with each other.

The other BIG factor is how you handle it when he angers you (and he WILL anger you sometimes).

1) If you are mad at him, try to talk it out and explain why you are upset. Do not expect him to guess why you are upset. Most men are terrible at mind-reading.

2) Do not give the silent treatment or attempt to "punish" him. Once he knows and accepts what he did wrong, allow him to correct his mistake or make up for it.

3) Let him be lazy once in a while. If he's been at work all day, don't expect him to always enthusiastically jump into house work and fix-it projects when he comes home. We all deserve a little time to relax.

4) Take a little time to appreciate him for things he does around the house, like cooking, fixing things, etc. Men want to be appreciated, just like women do. Don't only complain about the 1% he does wrong while never appreciating the 99% he does right.

5) Be someone he can trust with his secrets. I know it sounds like a no-brainer, but it can be tempting to tell the world his hidden faults and desires as a form of punishment when you are angry at him. Once a husband (or wife) loses all trust in their spouse, the marriage is as good as dead.

6) Try to be forgiving, and if you are going to fuss at him, make sure it's only for his CURRENT mistake and not for something from the past that's already supposed to have been resolved. If there ever comes a point where you can say "I can never forgive you..." for something he did, then that's another marriage killer.

All of these points I outlined work both ways (you should expect the same from him).
Also, they don't apply to the "three A's" (abuse, addiction, adultery). You should never have to put up with a spouse who is abusive, addicted to drugs/alcohol, or cheats on you.

Wow, what a great post. And I'm not even being sarcastic (for once).
I'm 21 years old.and, among my friends, no one gets married.
So I think you don't have to be afraid of it.

Of course, the situation or circumstances are not the same, but we are now still very young ウインク

As to the housework, it is not the thing only wife does. If both husband and you wanna work, for example, it is a good way to cook in turn. Monday, me, Tuesday, you, wednesday me , and so on.

You can be either aggresive, powerful working mom, or graceful house wife.
Generally speaking, I think good wife is a good life partner.

Thanks for the nod. I don't expect everyone to agree with me, but the points I made come from personal experience and relate DIRECTLY to why things didn't work out with my ex-wife.

Yes... for ANYONE, cooking is a great skill to have. Especially as a guy, I've found that (good) cooking is a great way to impress dates. My girlfriend certainly appreciates my cooking skills. Her previous boyfriend wouldn't even boil rice, so she seems happy that I often prepare meals for her.
Ha ha ha...

Actually, we have an automatic dishwasher in our apartment (something my girlfriend never had before in Japan). She is so enamored with it, I hardly ever get a chance to use it.
i think...

perfect wife is she keep making an effort that is loved me
and keep making an effort that love me.

it lead to all.

for example, cooking, house-cleaning, kindness.
This is a tough one, because since I've moved to Japan, a lot of women (including my mother in law) think that I don't do enough at home. I clean, cook almost every meal, do laundry, shopping for groceries and necesseties, etc. But what I do not do is to make a point to wake up BEFORE my husband. Most of the time we wake up at the same time. Whenever we have company, I always ask my husband to help me with preparationsOR entertain the guests. When my Japanese friends saw my husband VOLUNTEER to wash dishes or help cook, they feel that I'm not doing enough. Also, I ask my husband to cook dinner once a week, because I cook 6 days of the week and get tired of it.

On the other hand though, if my American family saw this, they'd think I was the best wife ever. LOL So, the perfect wife is definitely SUBJECTIVE and depends on the man's desires/wishes.

However, as a woman, the perfect wife would be one that loved her husband physically and supported him emotionally. Most women, including myself, have the hardest time not focusing on problems in the house and just relaxing with our spouses.

So in other words, you'd recommend getting married with another man?

My fair lady springs to mind.
I think about ideal wife ,
the most important point is
the person can or not love Dad forever.
If other things can perfect to do ,
witnout love , can't became happy .

I can't use English well , sorry !
Can you understand my English?
33#,
You mean my spouse's family, right? Yeah, I agree. As the years pass, we're both getting used to each other and getting along much better, but the beginning was so difficult.

Thankfully we don't have kids. I cannot imagine if we had kids and lived with them!! I would just die! For example, my Mom only let me have candy on special occasions, but my mother-in-law keeps her house FULL of candy ALL the time, so my husband was always a chubby kid. Even now he struggles with food. He used to have high blood sugar because of his weight and the doctor said he was on the verge of diabetes. Not to mention, he has a mouth full of cavities. I would not want my child to grow up like that.
