☆ENGLISH ONLY☆コミュのLiving on Iwo Jima?

I finally got around to watching Letters From Iwo Jima (seriously sad movie) and decided to read up online on present Iwo Jima only to find that civilians never returned without finding a reason.

Does anyone know?

No one can land in Iwo Jima by law, exept for memorial ceremony.
Reason is bellow.

After U.S. ｂrought back Iwo Jima to Japan in 1968, Japan Self-Defense Forces built
miritary-type airport and it still keeps on using for military training.

[Reason:2]
It's still danger because a lot of land mines and unexploded bomb remains there.

And I think No one can live in Iwo Jima because of economic matter.
There is no life-line, no job.
