I am writing a short speech for my Japanese language class about the experiences Japanese women have in America. I have read many books about Japanese women,, but they are in English and written by Westerners! So, I still wonder how life is different for Japanese women who live in America. What are the benefits and problems of living in America, as compared to Japan, when you are a woman? Could anyone please give me their opinion? Thank you very much for your help!
Although I'm not a woman, nor a full-Japanese woman, I'd imagine some of the cons for Japanese women living in the US is continuously getting hit on by yucky "asian hunters" haha. AKA: men who are infatuated by asian women. (Sorry, no laughing matter) A pro may be the increased freedom and power women have in the States. Many of my Japanese friends have a hard time readjusting back to the Japanese culture, saying that it's become "suffocating."
Sounds like you need to talk to Japanese women who have lived abroad to get the full explanation.
