☆ENGLISH ONLY☆コミュのWhere to go in Japan (o_0) ~!!!!

Hi everybody.

My name is Amr and I am from Saudi Arabia and Tomorrow I will visit Japan with four of my friend for the first time and we will stay for 11 days so can anybody please tell me what are the most popular places that I should visit and how can I get to it?

To see history of Japan, you should go to Kyoto (you can get there by train from any of the major airports). Kinkakuji (gold temple), teramizudera (water temple), and many other historical locations are there.

Himeji Castle, in the town of Himeji (west of Osaka) is one of the best castles (IMHO) and well worth visiting.

Hello! I live in Kyoto. it is too hot sunmer�
If you come to Kyoto you had better go Gion . It is so old and traditional streets . I recommend you to try Maccha ! It is little expensive but tastes good�

It depends on which part of Japan you are going to
and what your interests, ie old japanese, high technology, otaku calture, traditional music ......

It depends on what you like. For food Osaka is very
famous. If you want to see Geiko, you should go to
Kyoto and wander down the streets around Gion or
Pontocho. There are also many beautiful temples in
Kyoto. There is a restaurant on the outskirts of Kyoto
where Geiko serve tea. I think they are real Geiko,
not just girls dressed up as Geiko.
North of Kyoto is a place called Kanazawa which has a
very famous garden and (more to my liking) there is a
ninja museum.
There is so much in Tokyo that you could live there
your whole life and not see everything, but you should
go to Akihabara.

Thanks guys for your help and I really appreciate it.

I will spend most of the time in Tokyo but I will try to visit Kyoto and Osaka for two days.
As for me I like to see the two different worlds in Japan which are the traditional one (Palaces & Temples & Shrines) and the other world which is the technological and advanced world especially that I just graduated as an Electrical Engineer and my biggest interest is Robotics.

I will try to visit all the things that you mentioned above.

Since you`ll be staying in Tokyo you can also try famous tourist`s spots around the vicinity. Asakusa for an instance. Then you can ride a boat that will tour you in Tokyo Bay going to Odaiba, another famous spot.

If you have enough time you can spend another day in Nikko. Or you can go to Kamakura and Enoshima. It will take 2 to 3 hours by train from Tokyo to go to these places but it`s worth it. Try to search on the net to see some pictures and infos about it.

You can go everywhere easily from Tokyo.Because Tokyo has so many transportation.

In Nagoya(Aichi-ken) is a prefecture of TOYOTA and there is the Robot Museum!!

Well, it depends on what sort of stuff you would like to see.
The famous tourist place, such as Kyoto, Osaka, and Nikko are always cool.
If you want to see something modern, Odaiba is cool. It is by Tokyo Bay, and very modern. It has a Las-Vegas like mall, and a mini-statue of liberty.
I also like the Ueno-Park.
Some people go to Harajuku to see bunch of people dressed up as a doll.

Traditional places in Tokyo:
Palace
Kitanomaru park, next to palace (24h open)
Asakusa with Sensoji temple
Meiji shrine
Sugamo (trendy spot spot for aged)

Engineering spots in Tokyo:
Akihabara
Sony show room in Ginza
Apple store in Ginza, in Shibuya
Honda welcome plaza in Aoyama
Megaweb, Toyota's show room in Odaiba

If you are going to Kansai area, I suggest you to not miss Ise, the shrine of Sun goddess Amaterasu, Igaueno, the town of Ninja and Kumano, one of the oldest sanctuary in Japan.

Toyota Museum near Nagoya is some place that would attract you.

Visiting small factories in Tokyo is another choice. I don't know if they can inform you in English, but at least you can try.

This area is a wonderland. The state-of-art products are produced here in small town garages.

Thanks again for your wonderfull replaies.

Right now I am in a hotel in Asakusa and started visiting some of the places mentioned above (Akihabra, Ginza, Asakusua) and it was really great.

But I noticed some strange thing that some of the elder Japanese people here in Asakusa are afraid of talking with foreigners even though I am talking with them in Japanese language.
