リトル・ブラザー、来年春に新作”Get Back”をリリースか? [2006年12月01日]

アンダーグラウンド・ヒップホップのスタイルを貫いている数少ないメジャー所属のヒップホップグループ、リトル・ブラザー(Little Brother)が、新作"Get Back"を準備しているという。

このアルバムではメンバーであるプロデューサー、ナインス・ワンダー(9th Wonder)のビートは数曲のみとなる予定で、ジャスト・ブレイズ(Just Blaze)、D12のミスター・ポーターことコン・アーティス(Kon Artis)、[ノッツ](Nottz)、さらにはあのDJプレミア(DJ Premier)らがプロデュースを行っているという。

メジャーデビューアルバム"the Minstrel Show"がコアなヒップホップファンからは高い評価を受けながら、セールス的には不振に終わったことについて、メンバーのフォンテ(Phonte)「Atlanticも俺たちを大きく扱ってくれなかったし、俺たちももっと人前に出る努力をすべきだったかもしれない」とコメント。さらにアンダーグラウンドのファンから熱い支持を受けたニコレイ(Nicolay)とのユニット、フォーリン・エクスチェンジ(Foreign Exchange)についても「"Get Back"の制作が終わったらニコレイと一緒にレコーディングに入る予定だ。多分2007年の夏、2007年中には出せると思う」と語っている。

最初からそうだったのか、変更したのかは不明ながら1月にアナウンスのあったMick BoogieとのMix Albumは正規フリーダウンロードで入手出来ることに。

LBのmyspaceにて、A-haのクラシック「Take On Me」のリメイク曲と、Drake feat. Little Brother & Dwele「Don't Yo Have A Man」がDL出来ます。
両曲ともオススメですよ！

先日「Take On Me」でKOされたばかりなんですが、今度はTOTOのクラシック「Africa」!!!!

詳細は定かではありませんが、どうやら「Take On Me」も「Africa」もZo!のリイメイク・アルバム「...just visiting too」絡みの様で、Zo!のMyspaceからDL出来ます。

リトル・ブラザーの2人が新作についてコメント。「9thとは'04年以来一緒にスタジオに入っていない」 [2007年07月27日]
新作"Get Back"のリリース詳細を発表したリトル・ブラザー(Little Brother)。11曲という曲数の少なさやプロデューサーであるナインス・ワンダー(9th Wonder)のグループ離脱、意外なゲストの人選などでファンの間に波紋を呼んでいるが、本人たちがSOHH.comにコメントを発表した。

メンバーのフォンテ(Phonte)によると「(2003年のデビューアルバムの)"the Listening"以来、オレたちは2人でプロデュースをやってきたんだ、ビート作りってことじゃなくてね。ナインスたちが送ってきたビートをどういう曲にするか、そういう意味で自分たちでプロデュースしてきた。だから今回もものすごく変わったわけではないのさ」と説明。さらに「実際、ナインス・ワンダーとは2004年以来一緒にスタジオに入っていない」という発言も飛び出した。

新作の内容については、「(前作)"the Minstrel Show"より明るくなってる。業界のインチキについて気を回すのは止めたんだ」とフォンテがコメントすれば、もう1人のメンバー、ビッグ・プー(Big Pooh)も「オレたちはただ音楽を作って楽しむ、ってところに立ち返ったんだ。考え込むのは止めてね」と語っている。

またこのアルバムはヒップホップの良質な音源をリリースしているインディ・レーベルABB Recordsからのリリースとなるという。プロデュースには同じクルーであるジャスタス・リーグ(Justus League)のクライシス(Khrysis)や、イルマインド(Illmind)を迎えているとのこと。
