風呂敷についての簡易説明ですが、どうぞ皆様、これを日々音読しましょう：
タイトル： All-Purpose Cloth
その１）
It is square. It is a Japanese traditional cloth.
You can wrap things in it.
You can carry things with it, too.
What is it? -- It's a furoshiki.
その２）
A furoshiki is useful for shopping.
You can use it as a shopping bag.
You can use it many times; so you don't need new plastic bags.
Also, you can fold it into a small square and carry it everywhere.
その3)
You can use a furoshiki in many ways.
You can wrap many kinds of things with a furoshiki,
even watermelons or bottles.
A big one can be a mat or cushion cover.
A small one can be a scarf or a handkerchief.
Thus, furoshiki is an all-purpose cloth.

Don't you want to make a trip?
I do want to make a long trip, or rather, I would like to have an
opportunity
to walk all over Japan, just like Kiyoshi Yamashita, Taneda-Santoka
Hosai Ozaki or other solitary masters of things, teaching English and
working
as an independent professional translator for people in local towns.
This is what one of my good customers has been recommending me to do
for many years.

語法講義：冠詞の講義
以下講義です：
冠詞についてです。ご参照下さい：
今回は、実例を挙げて説明をします：
下記は、あるアメリカの女の子が
雑誌に送った相談の手紙です。
"Dear Betty，
I tried out for the lead in the school play，---[1]
but I didn’t get the part.------[2]
I got a smaller part.----------[3]
The part only has fourteen (14) ---[4]
lines. I feel very disappointed. "ーー[5]
訳は下記の通りです：
『私は、学校のお芝居で、主役をとろうと
頑張ったのですが、主役になれませんでした。
貰ったのは、端（チョイ）役で、
セリフはたった１４行しかないの。
がっかりだわ。』
* try out for--：〜を勝ち取ろうと頑張る、
と言う事です。
さて、
[1]の try out for the lead in the school play.の
the leadは、主役、と言う意味です。
なぜなら、お芝居での主役は、通例１人しか
いませんので、the lead が正しい言い方です。
★★theは、当事者が 既に知っており、判っているものを
指します。同時に、唯一これしかない、と言うモノにも
theを付ける場合が多いですね。★★
もし、the leadでなくて、この部分を a lead といえば
主役が数人存在するお芝居で、それになれなかった、
という事です。
★[2] I did not get the part.は、先に出たthe leadの
事を指しております。その役＝主役と言う事です。
★次に、[4]の I got a smaller part.とあります。
小さい役を貰った、と言う事ですが、
a partとなりますので、色々ある端役の中の
１つを貰ったと言う意味になります
★その次の[4] the partは、この端役の事を
指します。
最初に、発言された事を、すぐにまた、発言する場合は、
the をつけます。
★上の手紙にある様に、
[2]のthe part と [4]のthe partは意味が違いますね。
[2]と[4]のthe partは各々その前の単語を受けて、
[2]のthe partは、主役と言う意味ですし。
[4]のthe partは、端役の事です。
