The word thatta loosely translates to miscellaneous or something complex and wide ranging. This is exactly what one can expect from experiencing their live show. This five piece synth-rock group from Tokyo shows diversity in the music they produce. From their melodic pop sounds to their mesmerising guitar riffs, it's clear that their influences also come from a diverse background as they have been inspired by Manchester groups of the 90s such as Happy Mondays, Stone Roses and several alternative guitar bands from the U.S. like the Pixies and Sonic Youth. With three synthesizers on stage being their trademark, thatta is known for their fearless and frenetic live performances that have been exciting crowds up and down Japan for the last few years. While making a name for themselves in the indie music scene they have also had the opportunity to support international acts in recent months, including New Zealand's own Die!Die!Die and Decortica along with Casiokids from Norway. With their first E.P released last summer and several new tracks being recorded for future release, thatta are bringing their eclectic sound for the first time overseas, to New Zealand for four shows this March.
