rin san, i lived in japan for about 5 years. i lived in kashiwa city in chiba and kobe. but i have visited most parts of japan, i've been to about 43 different prefecture. it's my goal to visit every prefecture one day. i know mission bay, i like it there too, but i dont like auckland so much, i like wellington O_<
Mi Dreen san, i agree! i hope can get more kiwis in here, but its only been about 6 weeks since i started this community so its early days. don't forget to tell your kiwi friends to join...
Hi there!! Good to see a kiwi doing Mixi! I live in CHC now but have been in Queenstown for about 4 years and 5 years in Christchurch. Would be good that we could catch up some time! I have a few blogs of mine, please feel free to browse - one of them is mshorchata.spaces.live.com
What have I been doing??? I am stuck here............Just kidding, because I have a family here. I have got 2 super lovely daughters with my kiwi partner. I work part time as a student advisor for Japanese students. Oh yes, NZ is not a bad place to live apart from the NZ govenment. I love people here. You guys are just as good as my people! アザスさん、日本語うまいねぇ〜。感心感心。むちゃいけてますよ。:)
haha thanks mika san, actually i have no problem speaking, but i have never really studied so i struggle with writing, that's one of the reasons i am enjoying mixi. its a great way to learn kanji and it doesnt feel like im actually studying. i guess a lot of people laugh when they read some of my mistakes so i'm happy i can bring them some amusement. a lot of people worry about making mistakes when they are learning a new language, but i think its one of the interesting parts, so i like making stupid mistakes.
its cool you have a couple of daughters. my wife and i dont have any kids yet, but im looking forward to having mini azasa tachi one day. are you working at a uni or an english school?
You don't have to worry, your writing is good, I think. that is not お世辞! And your attitude is quite right about learning a foreign language. We need to make mistakes to be better at it, which I have been doing as well. I have sometimes made a mistake on purpose, just to have someone to point it at me. This way I will know who will be a good English teacher for me! :) Let me tell you my very embarrasing experience - I was talking about some politics and meant to say 'election'. You probably know by now...yes, I said 'erection'!! Oh my god....Also my friend who was studying Japanese went to Japan, stayed at a hotel there. He wanted to practise his Japanese so he got hold of a receptionist and meant to say, 「明日、7時に起こしてください。」but he said, 「明日、7時に犯してください。」He said 'Okashite' instead of 'Okoshite'. Only one vowel different but makes a big difference.....
By the way, would you like to talk in Japanese rather than English as you do mixi to brush up your Japanese? Please let me know if you do. I don't mind and maybe other people might want to do it in Japanese.
One more question, is your name Azus?? a real name of yours?? It's nice if it is. Oh kid....take your time really if you have got things you want to do. But yes, it is fun to have a kid! He/she will make you happier, I am sure. Before I go, just answer to your question, I work for a guardianship company. I am a guardian as well as a student advisor. The head office of my company in Auckland has got a language school as well but down here in CHC we only offer a guardianship service.
おやすみ〜!明日はキャンプだ!
I dont mind using Japanese or English. I think most Japanese people who join this community have and interest in English so I hope they can understand when I write in English. It really depends, I have been really busy at work lately so it takes less energy to write in English haha lazy desu. But when I have time I usually write in Japanese. Speaking is different, I love to speak Japanese so I probably use it too much. I know most of my Japanese friends wanna speak English but my brain automatically makes me speak Japanese to them. I think its because I lived over there for so long.
One of my biggest mistakes was when I was staying in a hotel in Japan. A foreign guy asked me if I could speak Japanese, so I said "sure". He asked me to help him get some kusuri for constipations (benpi) so we went to the kusuri ya, and I told the staff that he had geri so they gave him some kusuri to stop geri. Haha it wasn't until the next day that I realized I have made a mistake so that poor guy had benpi and he took geri kusuri! Haha I hope he was ok.
By the way, Azasu isn't my name. My friends and I started using Azasu as an abbreviation of Arigatogozaimasu. So I decided to use it for my name in mixi.
