This festival is supposed to be held on August 26th (Sat) and

I will take a day-off on 27th, so I'll go there on that day.
If you also want to go, enjoy it together!
50th Tokyo-Koenji Awa-odori Festival (August 26-27)
I went there on 27th (Sun) and enjoyed seeing fabulous performances very much. I was really happy with the festival!!
Awa-odori is originated in Tokushima Pref. (Shikoku Region).
Its style of dancing has not changed since a long ago.
Their costumes also look almost same, but they enjoy making them better, more colorful, and more beautiful than others.
Before I went to Koenji, I saw "Yosakoi-odori" in Omote-sando. This Odori came from Kochi Pref. (Shikoku Region).
Kochi and Tokushima are next door, but Yosakoi is totally different from Awa-odori. Yosakoi's style has been changed
and accepting Western music, such as rock and jazz-fusion.
Tokushima's Awa-odori is like classical music. They love its traditional style and they don't want to change that. Maybe
it won't change its style 100 years later. I think so.
