Wednesday, February 25, 2009 ============================================================================ "Trouble in the Lab" with Bok Center Players
When: Wednesday, February 25, 2009 | 5:00 - 6:30pm Where: TMEC 250 | HMS Quad
Take a large science lab, and add a busy P.I., funding worries, and lab members with diverse personalities and priorities. Stir in a heavy dose of deadlines and anxiety about theses, publications, and jobs.
Starting to sound familiar?
Come to this interactive theatre performance by Harvard's Bok Center Players in which we tackle the unique dynamics of lab life and the skills required to navigate them.
Get a glimpse into a day in the life of a typical science lab, interact with the characters personally, and play PI for a while to help the lab attain a more productive and satisfying path.
You'll leave knowing a bit more about how to choose a lab wisely, how to better navigate gender and other interpersonal issues in the laboratory environment, and the importance of effective communication in all aspects of one's career.
This event is part of the Professional Development for Life Scientists series, co-sponsored by the Office of Career Services, Harvard Integrated Life Sciences, the Division of Medical Sciences, the Office for Postdoctoral Affairs, and the Office for Faculty Development and Diversity.
