the most under-rated Latin rapper...

幻のデビューアルバム"24K"はAtlantic Recordsが
取り扱いを誤り、何度も発売が延期されたうえ曲が流出。
その背景にはFat Joeの関与があったとし、
暴力事件に発展、アルバムの発売は中止され、
Atlantic Recordsとの契約も切られてしまう。
もちろん２人は犬猿の仲に。

Cuban Linkいわく

"Pun wrote the whole "Don Cartagena" album,
before that (it was) Armageddon. At the end of
the day he didn't write his own rhymes. Take the
Puffy route, say it, you're an entertainer, not
a rapper."

"If I'm hot in the future, I think he'll drop
my '24 Karat' ideas. They got the masters for that."

(Biography)
歌詞を書き始めた15歳の頃から親しかったBig Pun、
Triple Seisと“Ruff & Rugged”、そして
“Caribbean Connection”を結成、
さらにToom(のちのProspect)を加えて
“Full-A-Clips”として活動し、その後
当時D.I.T.C.の一員であったFat Joeと
Big Punが意気投合したのでFull-A-Clipsは
Terror Squadのメンバーとなるが、Cuban Linkが
Fat Joeと決裂、Big Punの死もあり、
Triple Seisに続いてTerror Squadを脱退。

以後Fat JoeとTerror Squadを強烈に敵視。
DJ Kay Slayもその対象となっているが、
先に仕掛けたのはKay Slayの方で、
「Fat Hoe」と共に「Gay Slay」と呼ばれている。
なお、PitbullもFat Joeに乗じてCuban Linkを
批判する曲を制作したが、誰にも構ってもらえなかった。

・ラップスタイルはKool G Rap、Juice Crew、KRS-One、
Run DMC、N.W.A.などの影響を受けている。

・彼はよく自分を映画「Scarface」のTony Montanaにも
見立てるが、Terror Squad脱退直後、Fat Joeの刺客に
顔を切りつけられ、ホンモノのScarfaceになった。

・かつて「Scarface」の続編「Son of Tony」制作の話が
出た時、主役に抜擢されていたが、どうやらその話は
なくなってしまったらしい。

現在はM.O.B.(Men Of Business)Recordsで活動中。
Cuban Linkが個人で所有するレーベル・CLKも熱い！
CLKにはFiggarawやOne Soloが所属。
最近太ってきましたが、そんなCuban Linkが
大好きな方のコミュニティ。
