Hi all!I'm Uko,just getting into soccer(I should say football in this community??) since I watched the movie....(I think every one can guess what it is;P) To be honest,I didnt like football, since the games are slow for me.. I prefer basketball because they get scores a lot and the games are more speedy:) But,now I realized that football is not so slow, sorry football fans!
Well,I'd like to go for Argentina!!! Maybe some people get annoyed, but my reason is just becaue I found a cute guy in the team! Pls.I'm in a competition to predict which one is gonna be the winner:D
不二子ちゃん,is this community only for world cup?Or does this last for a long time to discuss about football??

Hi Tsuyoshi!! Hi Uko!--thank you for joining!--Your English is so good!!

Tsuyoshi～I think there's a lot of pressure for Japan to do well in this World Cup because it's Zico's last chance to show how good of a coach he has been! I think Japan will do very well in this World Cup!

Uko～ There are SO many cute soccer/football players! It's great! hehe To answer your question, this community isn't just for World Cup! It'll continue as long as there's football/soccer to watch and talk about!

Hi everybody! Great to find a community like this.

I've been a big World Cup fan since Mexico Games but unfortunately I'm too busy these days to catch up with the latest info & news around soccer. This community will be a perfect one for me to check and discuss the latest topics!

I'm going for Japan, Brazil and the United States, because I'm a Japanese who was born (and is living) in the United States and grew up in Brazil. One of the my big interests is how team USA's gonna impress the world!

よろしくね～＾＾

I generally root for underdogs. I cheered for the Calgary Flames during the playoffs for the Stanley Cup (hockey, for anyone who doesn't know), and if you follow hockey, you'll know they lost out.. again.. after building up a 2 nothing series lead against the San Jose Sharks.. depressing.. but anyway, this about football.

While I think Brazil will once again have a high proabability of winning, I won't be found cheering for them. I'd like to see Japan place in the top 4, but that seems to be a bit of a pipe dream. If only there were a few more Nakatas, Onos, Inamotos, and Nakamuras. It would also be satisfying to see France do better this year. It'd be a nice exit and well deserved reward for the hard-working Zidane. Germany and England would also be interesting to see in the top four.

But if there's an underdog in the finals, you can be sure I'll be cheering for them. Thanks for creating this forum Rebecca! I look forward to seeing more news as the Cup approaches.

Hello everybody,

20+ years as a Liverpool supporter, looking forward to our boys making a big impression for England in Germany. Yes, even Crouch.

I'll be supporting Japan as well, in my usual critical way. Hopefully they'll get through to the knock-out stages, but honestly can't see them winning against any of Italy, USA or the Czech Republic. (Not the world's biggest fan of Zico (as a manager) or his squad selection)

I'll also be rooting for the Dutch, and for Portugal, even though they feature Man U players :-p

Looking forward to chatting about football, even after the World Cup is over and we get back to business next season.

Hello all,

I'm a fan of Altringham F.C who used to play in the G.M Vauxhall conference in England, but have now withered into obscurity. We did have an F.A Cup game against Spurs once in like 99 tho'...
Since no-one knows Alti, I also support Man City because I went to Uni there and lived near the stadium...
I sometimes cheer the Japanese national team on, but they are their own worst enemy most games. I don't get why everyone used to say they need a goal getter, when it seems pretty obvious their problem is defence - especially against corner kicks and crosses (nothing to do with height, their marking is awful)
Anyway look forward to talking with all you guys about footy stuff...

cheers

p/s Rebecca, nice commmunity picture. If you're a Liverpool fan you should have put one of Graeme Souness studding some poor dude in the balls when he had an afro and moustache in the Liverpool days....that's a classic

Don't worry, once the Premiership season kicks off, we'll get back into gear.

Soccer wasn't the game it was 4 years ago. The big spending and importing of superstars have destroyed the game. Proper governing by officials such as Sep Blatter is required if the beautiful game can and still remain as being just that.
