I was just reading an article about Dubai International pulling out of a takeover bid for the Liverpool Football Club, to the dismay of LFC officials. Execs were hoping that the sheiks would throw a lot of money down for a new arena and better access to "better" players.
Meanwhile, Uefa has a new president, former French star Michel Platini who is promising big changes in the organization and its rules that would hopefully facilitate the ability of smaller clubs to qualify in the big tournaments and have access to "better" players.
Is there a problem with certain countries having too many qualifiable teams, and snatching up all the "better" players because of big backers?
