You never know what you need for the trip till actully hitting the road.

We wanted a rope so bad in Yosemite when trying to buid a log boat. We never knew IKADA making would entertain us so much.

So, let us together create a list of stuff we may need to have in the van.

This is not a must, but a suggesstion.

Rope
BBQ Grill (small one)
Swim Wear (definitely)
Oh yeah! We MUST have a rope!!
Playing cards,
Charcoal,
incense,
light, candles,
cusions and blankets
takashi-kun. are you bringing a portable gus stove? If you won't, I will though...

what I was thinking to bring were...
goggle
swiming suits
picnic mat (goza!)
frisbee
a banch of CDs (does the van actually have a CD player??)
cooler bag
...

and speaking of BBQ grill, I bought one in Walmart a month ago, and it was just $9 and worked good!! so I think we can just get a cheap one there and share altogether?? what do you guys think??
We're getting a good list.

Hiroko-chan, I will bring the gas stove.
As for CD, the Van does not have build in CD player, but Ai-chan has a radio transimitter thing, so any portable MP3 and CD player can be used in the van. Please bring your music (alot), otherwise Maiko's iPod will dominate the van and we will be mentally infected by Miko's world,,,which is obviously not a good idea!
list so far.

Rope
BBQ Grill
Swim Wear (each bring one)
Playing cards
Charcoal
incense
light/candles
cusions
blankets
sleeping bags
tent
pocket knife
spare tire
wrench for the van
extra fuel
kerosene lamp
music
optimism
goggle
picnic mat
frisbee
cooler bag
portable gas stove

I would add,

Driver's license
Auto insurance
Sense of adventure
Short hair
Strength to be able to pee anywhere
Camera with over 5G of memory space
First aid kit
Mosquito repel
Map
Strength to be able to poo anywhere
Maiko's world banzaai!

we should also take some patience to my inexperience driving skill.... will you??
goodie goodie~
uh, one more question, takashi kun..
do we need to bring my own auto insurance??

and i wanna add more there..hehe

-atlas/guide book
-icy hot (you know, when we bend our anckles when we play volleyball..hoho-)
-torch (for treasure hunting)
-tons of tissues! (for being able to poo by rivers)
-dozens of water
-a boiling pot (for making coffee?)
I don't think we need tissues for poo since we are using leaves for the environment... ( kidding)

I want to add some more.

Cooler
spices and oil and so on for cooking
minimum kitchen tools
detergent (dish and clothes)
bathing set
volley ball
san glasses
lotion

One thing i really wanted to say....
how Appachu said "optimism' at the end of his list.....
That reminded me so much of some American TV commercial or Google catch frase or something.... hehehee.
Appachu, I am not making fun of it, but I just HAD to mention it since I am so lonely at home and have no one to share this my thoughts, i had to express it here.
Come home soon!!
so I want to add one more to the list,
Innocense!
It would be great if we can use your auto insurance. I was thinking I would get a brand new insurance for the van, but I guess "adding" another vehicle and drivers on to your exisiting insurance can be cheaper and easier option. Could you contact your insurance company to see if this is really doable and reasonable?
takashi-kun, I just called my agent for my insurance, and they said "adding" another vehicle on my existing insurance is cheaper, or more usual(as they say), than creating a new insurance for the van. I didn't ask for quote, but I'm sure it won't be a problem to add a vehicle on my insurance. However,,, one thing I'm little worry about is that if I add a vehicle registered in CA with my insurance company (AIG), it wouldn't be reasonable since AIG may ask higher price for a vehicle registerd in CA...like, I had to change insurance companies when I got here coz my insurance company (allstate) offered a more expensive policy here...(even basic!!??) well, I wan't really aware of that, so i didnt ask them about it, but I will ask them again later, or tomorrow. btw, have you asked to yours?
Takashi-kun.
sorry for this late response...
I just called my insurance company, and they said they cannot accept additional policy for a vehicle registered in other state, but only for one registered in NY or NJ. Maichan may have told you about this already, but just wanted to remind this..
so...what we should do now may be to get a new one under your name in CA. we can divide the cost and it won't be that expensive i guess!!
If that's the case, we can get a brand new insurance here then. Thanks for checking though.
