Roland Garros took a hard stance again!
Paraguayan player Adolfo Daniel Vallejo will be sanctioned a heavy penalty for his sexist comment about the female chair umpire after his loss to a 17-year-old French new star, Moise Kouame.
“Matches like this have to be umpired by a man; it’s very difficult for a woman to do it,” Vallejo allegedly told in an interview after the match.
“It has to be refereed by a man, because it’s a very demanding crowd and you need a lot of strength to go against it,”
This must have touched a very raw nerve of tournament organizers.
Roland Garros has imposed a fine of 65,000 euros, a half of his prize money.
Their statement; “The competence of an umpire is not determined by their gender, but by their professionalism and ability to officiate at the highest level. The outcome of a sporting event, whether positive or negative, can never justify or excuse such remarks,”
OK I understand the principle., but a bit too harsh I feel as a male old-timer.
Vallejo would be super discreet not to make another remark like this.
He has learned it the hard way, though.

BTW Naomi Osaka has been overpowered by Aryna Sablenka, a current No.1 ranked player.

I was quite upset with what he has said
It was totally inappropriate to use the gender. He surely made himself a huge sexist.
If he wished to accuse the unfairness or the incompetence of the particular umpire, which I agree to some extent, he should have said so.
Now he made the issue look as if the problem were the inferiority of the gender, not the ability of this particular person.
Such an embarrassment and a huge disappointment.
I don’t trust, however, the French Open Authority over the certain issues.
It was totally unfair of them to disqualify the aspiring Japanese player for her good will deed which ended up as an unfortunate accident.
I don’t respect the opponents who took advantage of the face value for their win, which I found it so un-sportsmanship.
The French Open Authority, however, should have stood up for the real sportsmanship, not a racist decision towards Asians.
It is true that whenever I use the metro in Paris, I was the one to be checked if I had paid to ride by a metro police, but none of my accompanying Caucasian colleagues ever.
There has been always this underlying racism against mideastern and Asian people.

Time passes but there are some things we should keep in memory.

Tanks mowed them down.

We buy them to put it on top of お雑煮after we stop the fire.
It cooks slightly with those シャキシャキfeels that us do well got to the soup ;)
It was a strange custom to me but now I totally merge myself in and it is a must have god my お正月❣

I am home !
The busy months of May and June have finally settled.
Got to get home this late morning.
Yes I had the honor to meet with many wonderful people and reconnect with someone from my younger days … yet home is home.

Ugh … broke my toe again 
I tried to pick up the phone from someone I haven’t seen for such a long time, ag the same time I saw a heavy box was toppled and on its way to crash my pup
I don’t know how I did it,
I stretched left leg over my pup yet it was so heavy I couldn’t hold it.
it push my leg down and set itself right onto my toe on the ground.
Luckily my pup was unharmed but my third toe
It swelled up right away with such ugly black, purple and red, I drove myself to my doc..
Nothing we could do but take a rest.
I am about to leave for vacation in less then a week and my tennis sectional championship in less then a month !!!

This year i found myself stuck in the airport of Dulles, near DC. My flight was supposed to leave at 6:10pm.
The captain informed us that
we were amid the bad weather so he had no choice but stay to let go of those systems.
Then the aerial show to celebrate the 250th started wrapping up the sky with the smoke …
We were ordered to de-board.
It was already 10:30pm we finally flew and I missed the flight gif Pamplona….
Now I am on the last train from Madrid via Zaragoza for Pamplona, where we would arrive at 10:01pm…
What a long travel since I left the second of July 🤪

Well, the delay of SFO-DC which had us missed the flight for Madrid that day, and the flight today got delayed, then we missed the Iberia flight for Pamplona
I arranged the train ride for Pamplona and now we have to get on the bus….

Wish there would be minimum damage by this fire for everyone in Pamplona …

The tropical storm Lala has past Hawaii yet it didn’t go without digging deep with its nails into our towns.
Street signs were toppled in Waikiki, so were the beautiful tall trees of Queen Emma Summer Palace which blocked Pali Highway to Kailua bound for 2 days.
A couple of sub electric stations were blown up and we finally recovered the electricity after 48 hours, while the one for Marine Corp Base has not been recovered yet.
Fortunately my kitchen is equipped with propane gas so I had no problem cooking. Neither we had to suffer the water while a shower gets colder.
I wish everyone affected be safe and electricity recovers soon

Saw a great tennis match at a local tournent last night.
It is USTA unsanctioned but what a great mixed doubles we got yo view
Learnt so much on how to position myself for a greater volley.
Hitting hard is good but being active and aware of the positioning and the intercepting is the key to the victory.

Played the last match of our mixed league this afternoon.
It showered a bit here and there, but it was so light we were able to complete the match, fortunately :)
Winds were participating the match vigorously and everyone had some shots that we could do nothing but laugh out loud with the swirling gusts.
Took it in The end with 6-3, 6-1.
