Based on a play by Hisashi Inoue Directed by: Judith Alldritt McDowell
Starring: Ayumi Hamada and Robert Adam (Part of the Victoria Fringe Festival)
Mitsue lives a lonely and repressed life as a Hiroshima bomb survivor. One day in 1948 she enters her ruined home and finds her Father - whom she last saw in the Hiroshima firestorm. In despair, Mitsue looks ahead only to a quiet death – but her father sees a happy future for her. Love and humour challenge guilt and hopelessness in this Japanese classic.
