以下、Amazonのレビューより抜粋。
過去にIsophlux、U-Cover、HymenといったIDM/音響系の名レーベルから作品を発表してきた、Lusine(L'usine、Lusine Icl)ことJeff McIlwain。デトロイトを拠点とするレーベル:Ghostly Internationalに移籍し、『Serial Hodgepodge』(04年)、『Podgelism』(07年:REMIXアルバム)、『A Certain Distance』(09年)を発表。同レーベルからの3年ぶりのアルバムとなる本作『The Waiting Room』は、1曲1曲が多様ながらも、アルバムとしては一貫性を保つ、ジャンル・ベンディングの達人Lusineの本領が十二分に発揮されている。
感電しそうなIDM(1)“Panoramic”でゆっくりと立ち上がり、エレクトリック・ソウルの(2)“Get The Message”へと続くアルバムの冒頭部分で、既にその世界に引き込まれてしまう。その後は、弾力性のあるハウス・ビートに体が疼く(3)“Lucky”、洗練されたゲットー・エレクトロ(7)“First Call”、ドラマチックに展開していくテクノ(9)“Stratus”、素晴らしい幕切れとなるコラージュめいたハウス(10)“February”と、前作よりも更にバラエティに富んだエレクトロニック・ダンス・ミュージックが、目まぐるしく展開するが、この男の素晴らしいところは、それを雑多と感じさせず、調和した一つの流れとして纏めあげてしまうところだろう。前作『A Certain Distance』を特徴付けていたヴォーカル・トラックだが、本作においてもおよそ半数の曲でヴォーカリストを招待している。先に挙げた(2)では、妻であるSarah McIlwainが、そのハスキーで艷っぽい歌声を響かせ、楽曲によりエモーショナルな雰囲気を加味している。
