Hello everyone!! My name is KID.
I found this community, but it seems that there has not been any reply to this topic.
Well, as the head of this community asks, I am going to talk about myself.
I had been interested in living in other countries since I was little, and I went to Oregon for a year as an exchange student. I had so much fun there, and I met so many fun and nice people there as well. I still have a contact with a lot of them.
After coming back from Oregon in 2005, I decided to continue my life as an international student in here, Vancouver. Here, I have gotten to know a lot of other international students from many different countries. You may ore may not know, but Vancouver is culturaly diverse, which makes this place very much interesting.
As you may have already noticed, I like to talk a lot. I am also interested in teaching English. If you live arond Tokyo (preferably Kanagawa, since that is where my house is in Japan), I may be able to teach you some English. If you are interested, please contact me. Thank you all, KID
I'm Jun from Tokyo. I started mixi just a few days ago, and today, I've been looking for a community where everyone uses English.
Mixi sure is a huge social networking site, but I thought it's a pity here seems to be Japanese-closed. So, I was looknig for people who have the same viewpoint as mine. And I found here, and saw Mari is struggling to make this community active and alive, which made me feel like joining, and here I am!
I'm currently worknig at an international environment NGO called FoE Japan, as an intern. I studied English in Canada two years ago, staying there for exact one year. But I don't think my English is good enough to work in a real international environment, so I hope I can improve it here, talking and discussing lots of things with you all!
Oh, by the way, KID, I WAS in Vancouver for three months in total two years ago! Such a lovely city! Sometimes I still picture in my mind lots of scenes I've had there..
I just joined mixi yesterday myself and I thought I'd see if there were any English communities so I wouldn't always be struggling with language.
I'm Anne. I'm Australian, but I lived in Japan in 2000 and taught for Nova for a year. I really miss Japan. I'm going back next year so I'm really looking forward to that.
I just graduated from uni and now I'm working taking bets over the phone (horse racing).. but hoping to be back in Japan working next year.
Hello everyone! I just got back from Yunnan, China. I went with some other Mixi friends. It was a lot of fun. I will also be going next month with another Mixi friend.
I really want to liven up this community and maybe in the future, we can all actually meet.
I have met many Mixi friends through my other communities. I hold a Yunnan tea party each month and many Mixi friends come. It is a lot of fun.
Hi, welcome back Mari! Oh, it has been for more than a month, I haven't noticed your coming back.
I'm also interested in Yunnan. Since.. when? Maybe since I've been to Laos 6 years ago, seeing some tourists there who were coming from or going to Yunnan. And 4 years later, in Canada, I had a really good roommate from Yunnan.
My dream is going to a journey starting from Okinawa, going through Taiwan, landing on Mainland, through Yunnan and Tibet, arriving at Bhutan, and heading for India and Sri lanka. In order to do this, at least I want to study and become able to speak Chinese. Or Tibetan and Hindi, hopefully.
Well, anyway, I'd like to hear from you about Yunnan, or other parts in China! (I've only been to Hong Kong and Taiwan, once for each.)
Ewie, nice to meet you! It's great to have you here, a perfect speaker of English! And I'm glad you seem to love Japan. What fascinated you most when in Japan? Let me (us) listen to your stories!
