I really like this song =D Kero Kero Bonito--ha, I didn't know of this band!
In addition to English that is their native language, their Japanese is pretty good too--there's no accent and lyrics are so good.
Many of J-pop songs are bilingual (Japanese and English) and I can tell those musicians might put some extra effort--but not enough effort--and, ahem, ruin their songs. Japanese accent is too funny and lyrics are hilariously terrible.
To be fair there are also a few of great bilingual J-pop musicians, like m-flo, Hikaru Utada, Monkey Majik and *monolingual* ones like Ayumi Hamasaki and Puffy.
I don't think myself a good critic of vaporwave but as a bilingual listener that's what I usually think of.
