First Visit Japan

In 70's, Mori-boyz was admired equally with SOFT MACHINE (UK) and CAN (Germany) , or talked with the mastermind of BEATLES. Though they had appeared for an extremely limited festival of Europe for these years, suddenly they came to Japan twice this year without any information.
On June 4 in 2010, they carried out the first visit Japan as the guest for baobab’s ARUK Concert at eel in Fukuoka as Changkovsky has relationship with Kimihiro Matsumoto, who is the headmster of Katerina Ancient Music Device Research Institute and repaired a musical instrument of Changkovsky during the stay in Bulgaria in the year before last. Also on October 24, the second visit as the main act for "The Autumn-Oriented Splendid Sake Party" organized by Todoroki Saketen at Bassin in the Plaza Hotel (Daimyo, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka) as Zeronobicci is friends Matsuo Midnight, who ia an advisor of the evevt, co-president of Hakata Bossa Nova Laboratory.

Incidentally, though they visited as the opening of the Beatles in 1966 and invited "Hakone Aphrodite ’71" in 1971, they couldn’t cast, so The Drifters before becoming a comedy group had to play at Budokan and Pink Floyd played the first visit to Japan.


The Legendary "The Forest"

Announced on December 3 in 1965, The Beatles "Rubber Soul" was successful in terms of both artistic and commercial music, and they established their identity by this work. Without this work, the subsequent "Revolver" and "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" could not have been born. However, this historical work was produced in just four weeks without any preparation, and single songs "Work It Out" and "Day Tripper" were produced in the same period. Considered these facts, it was extremely physically difficult to record all the songs for themselves in the method of the making records at the time. From that time there was doubt on whether all songs were recorded by only members of the Beatles.
And oddly enough, in the articles mentioned by four major music industry magazine at the time, "Billboard," "Cash Box" "world record", "Radio & Records", the "forest" was a term frequently appears in the conversation during the recording. For example, "The forest can do it but I can't." George said struggling to his first sitar playing in "Norwegian Wood" and "Ask the forest, we can leave this portion and they can go the distance." John said thinking about the guitar code of "Norwegian Wood" were interpreted philosophically, but to hear those terms simply, we can hear "It is impossible for me but the forest can" "I don’t wanna play any more. So what did the forest mean? The answer lay the performance by the unkown trio in the film unintentionally left as the recordings of "Sasa-Grinowa Music Festival in 1965" at Tamaya, the capital of the Sasa-Grinowa Republic, November 7 in 1965. They were playing "Norwegian Wood" like their original song nearly a month before the release of "Rubber Soul". The name of the group was credited "Ліси", "The Forest" in English. At that time, there is no official name yet, and it seemed they identified themselves "The Forest" because they were called so in working at EMI Studios. Of course, it is not hard to imagine that "EMI Studios" was later "Abbey Road Studios" and "work" and that support for the Beatles recordings. Though any member of them as well as no reticent person concerned is not clear yet, it is natural that three people were certainly involved in "Rubber Soul" recordings.

The Appearance

August 1965, at the Salzburg Festival in Austria, in Karajan opera "Boris Godunov", They appeared in public for the first time as "feenwald musiker". They were invited to "The Edinburgh International Festival" "The Bayreuth Festival" and others, and gained rave reviews. So they came to be known as a progressive group advanced at a particular music.

The current Mori-boyz are, Peter Ilyich Changkovsky( vocal, percussion and others, German-Ukrainian), Giovanni di Zeronobicci(ukulele, cornet and others, Italian-Hungarian) , François Makobeh(keyboards, Japanese- French) and with an odd manager. I do not think three people now are the same as 45 years ago, but their appearance are quite similar. They started to introduce themselves "Mori boyz" around 1966, but they would often appear in the name of "Wood Zeppelin" or "Penguin Forestcafe Orchestra" and others named after the bands they had played with. It seemed to be since 1980 when they unified "Mori boyz" as their name.
Though their official or private recordings under "Mori boyz" have not been preserved even one piece, there are some bootleg records which were recorded their intermittent events, "Фестиваль Лесной (The Feast of the Forest)" since 1960’s, at several times by a fan. However, as they remain very bad because they had been preserved under poor statements, we look forward to the announcement of being released a new CD or a DVD that seems to be saved by "Mori boyz" themselves.
In any case, nobody would answer these kinds of questions, the detailes and the outlook for the future are still uncertain even now.
