Needcompany has been in existence for 25 years. This haven for artists set up by the theatre-maker and artist Jan Lauwers and choreographer Grace Ellen Barkey in 1986 has expanded into a leading theatre company with an international reputation that extends to the world’s most prominent theatres.

Things will continue in the same vein in the coming year, with three world premieres including two by Jan Lauwers for the Ruhrtriennale and for the Burgtheater, plus a new creation by MaisonDahlBonnema in 2011. This year we shall also be introducing plenty of special projects in addition to our familiar productions and projects.

Needcompany means theatre, dance, performance, art and literature. For all of 25 years and still full of passion.
