Angela Aki collaboration charts in Japan!
"Every Woman's Song," written by Janis and protege Angela Aki, performed by Angela on her brand-new album "Life", hit the number one spot in cities all over Japan last week, including Sapporo, one of Janis' favorite places!
The album itself was recorded half in Japanese (in Japan) and half in English (in Nashville.) Janis was instrumental in putting together the band and studio for the Nashville dates, as well as playing all the acoustic guitars and some keyboards on the seven songs they cut here. In addition, she has two co-writes with Angela on the record, the above, and "Bop Bop Bop", in Janis' words a real summer record.
Last tour of Japan, Angela joined Janis on stage for "Will You Dance." Who knows what will happen next tour?!
