皆様、マリオットホテルというのをご存知ですか？
世界的有名なチェーンホテルです。
現在、世界各地2800ヵ所でホテルを展開しています。

もともと、マリオットホテルが何をしていたかご存知ですか？

1934年に、Hot Shoppeというレストランから始まりました。

その3年後の1937年にワシントンの郊外で、Hot Shoppeを経営していたときに、J.Willard Marriottは、飛行機に搭乗するお客様が、サンドイッチやコーヒーを機内に持ち込んでいるのに気づきました。彼は、すぐに旅行客は飛行機の機内で食べ物を食べたいということに気づきました。

彼は、すぐにマイアミに飛び、Eastern Air Transport's chefであるEddie Rickenbackerと計画し、世界最大の機内でのCateringビジネスが誕生しました。

このように、J.Willard Marriottは、常に新しい発見を探していたのである。

Do you know what field Marriott started?

In 1934, J.Willard Marriott opened a restaurant which was called Hot Shoppe.

In 1937, while visiting the Hot Shoppe adjacent to the old Hoover airfield on the ourskirts of Washington, he noticed customers buying sandwiches and hot coffee to take with them, A little Q and A got to the heart of the matter. Travelers wanted to eat the plane.

He flew to Miami to propse and onboard meal program to Easter Air Transport's chef, Eddie Rickenbacker, adn what would at one point be the world's largest airline catering business was born.

Hw was on the scene and had his eyes open to new opportunities.
