Hey, if you are transferring to Missouri State, you probably speak English lol. It is easier for me. I believe you are looking for some help there. What will your major be? Right now my girlfriend is interning in San Francisco but we both graduated from MSU. If you ask there are some Japanese staff members they can put you in touch with such as Kazumi Holcomb and one of the ELI teachers speaks really good Japanese. Call the international office for more info at:

i'm kinda relieved to hear that there are some Japanese speakers haha im supposed to ask them in English but sometimes it'is really hard to tell my situation or what i'd like to do since English is my second language,,, you know?:(
im in hospitality major now btw:) that is great that your gf is in SF! i might be able to help her if she needs haha

No problem, if for some reason they cant put you in touch with Kazumi (I believe she should still be working there), let me know. I have 2 Japanese friends who are still there. I am sure one of those 2 could help you out I think. So if it gets close and you still need to find someone to help you around, send me a message and let me know so I can make some phone calls.
The Japanese speakers don't work in the ISS office (though one of the girls that worked there was studying at one point). But there is a Japanese community in the town (including a Japanese service at one of the churches) and several Japanese students at MSU. You may be the only one in the hospitality program that I know of but still, there are a few people there that could help you get settled in.
As for my girlfriend, she really doesn't know anyone in the area and is only there till December doing an internship. She is enjoying it but it is different haha.
