With the internet, there comes a vast amount of resources to use when studying English, or any other language. Some resources that are helpful are www.youtube.com, smart.fm, www.lingq.com, and www.365.com. All of these sites are free though some of them have pay services also so be careful where what you click yes on.
On youtube, some fellow teachers from ETJ (English Teachers in Japan) have posted some helpful videos for English learners. smart.fm and lingq are free resources where you can create your own vocabulary lists, challenge your understanding and quiz yourself. The pay portions of these sites are for private online tutoring and writing checks. I would save that for your teacher since you are already paying your teacher. 365.com is an online radio site that has some learning stations available. 365.com can be used to accustom yourself to different accents. This is important since no two people speak exactly the same.
Check out these sites. If you know of any others, please post them here so others can try them.
