The Vancouver Titans overcame a 6 point half time deficit against the USA All Stars to earn a 115-97 victory. The win puts the expansion team on top of the International Basketball League's North division with a perfect 3 and 0 record.

Rookie point guard Nate Bowie exploded for 37 points in only his third IBL start. The lightning quick graduate of the University of Central Arkansas went 12-22 from the field and picked the All Stars for six steals. " I think it was a good game for me coming off a sprained ankle in the second game. I just wanted to do anything to help my team win. Playing with (Kyle) Keyes really relieves a lot of pressure off me. We really compliment each other with my youth and his experience."

Bowie's night was indeed well supported by the 27 points and 8 assists put up by his veteran back court partner Kyle Keyes.
Up front, Taeshaud Jackson (Lincoln University) led the team with 8 rebounds, while starting centre Jessan Gray (Iowa State) delivered another solid all-around performance with 10 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, and 4 blocks.

Head coach David Petroziello is pleased with the opening weekend to the 2009 IBL season, and with what his starting backcourt brings to the Titans.
"Having a talented backcourt duo like Kyle and Nate makes every other aspect of the game simpler. The other players feed off them, and I am happy with the leadership they bring to the team."

A perfect 3-0 opening weekend has gotten the expansion Titans off to the start Petroziello was hoping for. "We grew as a team this weekend, and I am pleased with the way we responded to our first taste of adversity. We need to learn how to be consistent in our effort and execution, and I think today's game will definitely help".

The Titans will travel to Bellingham on Saturday night to take on the defending IBL champions. The 7:00 pm game against the 2-1 Slam will be the first of 4 this season against the Titans closest rival.
