This fall Soot Records will release Maga Bo's Archipelagoes, as well as 2 albums of Cumbia -- the debut album by cumbia prodigy El Hijo de la Cumbia, Freestyle de Ritmos; and a deep compilation by Sonido Martines: La Nueva Cumbia Argentina: the Buenos Aires Implosion.

As announced here, DJ Rupture has a new mix called Uproot, set for release on October 3rd. The video debuted today on Pitchfork: check it out!! floating mobile prisons made of negative space and night-vision footage of NYC subway tunnel graffiti while sweet melodic triplets drop like leaves!!
This Friday Rupture will DJ at Portland's Holocene, and on Saturday he joins the Surya Dub family for a laaarge San Francisco dance. info.
Maga Bo's debut album ARCHIPELAGOES is almost out! What to expect? A variety of hiphop/ragga/dubsteppy hybridization proceeding by means of slow on-site collabos in Africa. Hit his myspace for a taste, or check these two videos: Fire feat. Xuman from Pee Froiss, Saye Mbott feat. visionary Dakar all-female rap/r&b crew ALIF.
to celebrate Archipelagoes, we're uniting the world-travelling Soot gang to a Manhattan rendezvous on Saturday September 13!!
Maga Bo from Brazil will be playing material from his debut album Archipelagoes. DJ Rupture & Jahdan Blakkamoore will present their dubbed-out soundsystem set for the first time in the US. Pirate-turned percussionista Filastine is gonna unveil material from his forthcoming album on Soot, and DJs Geko Jones & Eliel Lucero will round things out with the latest in guaracha y bass, cumbia, and dubstep.
