It's too bad I don't live around Tokyo so I cant
see you in person but I just wanna say I respect
what you think.

I read all topics so made me so sad people just came
in to bug you.

But I do think everone loves to speak English
among Japanese.
It says should have Toeic score of 900 or higher to
join this community.
I think it makes people not to feel free to join.

I do understand a person should have certain level
of English ability to communicate enough,
but doesnt have to ve 900+.
600 is enough communicatable.
So maybe you can teach the English.
By that, you'll learn it too.

Just people are not that confident like you.

No offense.
Just wanted to say good luck and give to a suggestion.

くぅ、thanks for your advice. I understand what you mean. And I dont mind to meet people who doesnt speak good English, like you suggested. I have two communities, one of them is more like what you suggested, I dont make a border to join the community, so your TOEIC can be even lower than 400. But I made this community for people who speak good English. I want to have a meeting for English chatting but not for practicing or studying English.

It may take time to find these people, but I still believe there are some who have the same will as I do. So I can wait till these are coming to join for just talk. It shouldn't be a difficult thing in the US or other English speaking countries. So, I think it should not be impossible to do here in Japan. I know it's a bit difficult though :-)

Speaking of teaching them English, I would make another community to do that if i wanna do. I think these communitis should be separate ones. As you said, I also can learn from teaching them. Thanks again for your advice and comment.

Enjoy your journey, I just read your top page. You have an very interesting and exciting life !! keep on traveling. Don't forget buying clothes and stuff before going back to the rural area, haha.

cheers - togucci
cool, now we have one more people sharing the same will :-)
Hi, I just found out that you got another community like this and I guess it would be fun to join this.
So, well it sounds fun for me, even though I felt bit awkward when I read the others.
anyway, I like chatting in English so it would be great if i can meet you guys somewhere to have a conversation in English!

well catch you later :)
まゆ、thanks for joining this community, and sorry for not responding for too long... i haven't realized that you came here, hahaha. i didn't actually expect many to come this community. it might take time but when we have enough members, I think we should try it out with coffee and cakes at a Sturbucks :-y
no worries, I just got back from Sydney this morning and I hadn't checked the internet for a while anyway! I hope we get some other people as well, I guess it's gonna be really fun, right?:-)
welcome back :-B when i came back to Japan, i wanted to eat コンビニオニギリ and 美味しいラーメン!! these are the things that we have never found abroad :-)
hi, yoriko ! welcome to our small community, haha. i hope to have a meeting sometime soon with you guys, only if some of us wanna meet for chatting in English with coffee and cinnamon roll !! if you guys wanna do, i would love to organize it :-)

cheers - togucci
Yoriko, I organized this community for real meetings, thats why I named this スタバde英語(自由が丘、渋谷), so that ppl would know where about we will have these meetings in the future. Oh you dont speak American, lol dont worry I can understand English with most of accents, even these Indian's but not Brits and AUZ accents, haha.

its not dating, lol, so I like to meet at least two ppl so that we will be three or more.

and here is the suggestion, maybe we should start talking in English at the first moment, then speak Japanese "if" we like later. If we started speaking in Japanese at the first meeting, we could felt very weird to start speaking English after that, you know what i mean ?

it might be very interesting if we speak only english for the first few meetings and maybe at the 5th meeting or so, we will speak only or mainly in Japanese. We may get a different impression from each other if we speak Japanese after speaking only English several meetings.

Anyway, I think the very first meeting is the most important.

Does anybody wanna meet us for English chatting in Shibuya, Shinagawa, Odaiba areas or somewhere near by ? please rise your hand and write back to us with the other hand :-)
good good. i think you and I are ready for meetings, Yoriko. what about others ??? I can meet you guys at any places if I dont smell cigarette smoke :) Starbucks is one of the perfect places for me.
