The race begins with 11 teams departing the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum and flying to Salvador, Brazil, where they must either climb up a large stone staircase on their hands and knees or climb down a 240-foot cargo net. The first pit stop is Forte São Marcelo and the last team to arrive is eliminated.

"Japan is certainly not the cheapest place to visit, but it sure is unique. I love how the cities are surrounded by cutting-edge technology contrasted by all the great history you can find in other parts of the country. Walking through the streets of Tokyo is like drinking 20 cups of coffee. I find it astounding that so many people can exist with such order in one of the most densely populated cities in the world. I simply love the culture -- sumo, sushi, bonsai and karate."

東京の町並みを歩くのは、コーヒーを20杯飲んだような気分。。。ですか？！？Philのユーモア、大好きです！（東京から離れて暮らしている僕も同感です。）
