Hi everyone,

Pavane pour une infante défunte (English: Pavane for a Dead Princess) is one of my most favorite Classical pieces, definitively. When I listen to this work, I surely feel Maurice Ravel, a French composer and pianist of the impressionistic period, must be a genius. The melody constantly makes me feel elegant and tasteful. Even though there are two versions, which are the orchestra writing and piano writing, I prefer listening to the orchestra version.

I would be grateful if someone could share the impressions for this piece with me.

First of all, I am a music lover but have absolutely no knowledge to discuss a specific master piece like "Pavane for a dead princess". However, I am sort of curious how the same sets of notes can affect people's feelings differently.

I often play piano to myself just to induldge in my own remorse. Ravel's this particular piece and Chopin's etude op.10 no.3 would do the work of conveying the empathy towrds myself.

Music notes are my healing power and my language. I would like to continue practicing English language and Music language as long as I can.

I will keep my ears out for a music work that impresses me.
