Just a reminder about this weeks demonstration on Maui. Please pass this to everyone you know. We are beginning to make national news so make some signs addressing President Obama. This Friday!

First Furlough Friday!
8:00am-10:00am
State Building, Wailuku
In order to make a difference, we need to come together and stand united in protest of the furloughs. This Friday marks the beginning of the 17 mandatory furlough days.
The theme of this event will be a “funeral” for education in Hawaii. We would like signs in the shape of tombstones that read…R.I.P. Hawaii Education, In memory of a quality education in Hawaii, …Let’s get creative. Also, Liza has written a special Pledge of Allegiance for the children to recite. We will video tape it and put it on You Tube. We will send the link to all our senators and legislators, as well as to President Obama. We need to put faces to this issue if we hope to have a great impact and create national news over this issue. Please take the time to come out and make our numbers big!

*In the meantime, please make the time to call and email your state representative and senator. Let them know that you want them to vote for a special session to stop these furloughs. Remember…they are working for you!!
