ModBookコミュの出荷状況が非常に怪しい

僕は1/26にOWCで注文したのですけど、何の通知も来ていませんです。
もともと怪しげな商品ですので延期くらいは予想の範囲と思って気長に待ちます。

はじめまして。

自分もOWCで、1/24に注文して、
2/5に、shiroseさんと同じメールが届きました。

キャンセルして、日本での発売を待った方が良いのかとも考えましたが、
それも遅れそうな気もするので、
やはり、チャック=モ=ノリスさんの言うように、気長に待つつもりです。

みなさん、ありがとうございます。

海外のコミュニティでは1年前の発注で未だに届かない、と
憤っている人もいるようで…。注文に追いつけないとか、捌き切るのに
夏までかかりそうだとか、部品不足だとか…。Axiotronが公式な発表を
一切行わないために色んな噂が飛び交っています。

先日、アップルから新しいMacbookが出たので、Madbook出荷に影響があるのでは？と
気になっていましたが、メールが届いたので、ご報告します。
（2000文字までしか、書き込みできないので、分けて投稿します）

僕は、2.0GHｚのMadbookを注文しているのですが、
かなり大雑把に要約すると、アップルから2.1GHｚのモデルが発売されたので、
はじめの注文どおり2.0GHｚモデルにするか、それとも2.1GHｚモデルにするか、
選択してくださいというものです。
（あまり英語は得意でないので、間違っていたらスミマセン）

変更すると、さらに2〜3週間かかるようですが、
変更しなければ、順序どおり（3/21出荷とは書いていないのが気になりますが。。。）
ということらしいので、2.0GHｚのままにしておきました。

以下、メールの内容です。

On Tuesday, February 26th, Apple released updated MacBook models. The
Modbook you currently have on order is built using an Apple MacBook 2.0GHz.
Apple has now introduced a MacBook 2.1GHz replacing this 2.0GHz model. The
primary differences between the 2.0GHz model (which you have currently on
order) and the newly available 2.1GHz model are the following:

A $75.00 Special Discount will be applied to orders for the 2.0GHz Model
There is no special discount available for the 2.1GHz Model

Apple Front Row wireless Remote Control is included with 2.0GHz Model
Apple Front Row wireless Remote Control is a $19 option with 2.2GHz Model

80GB Hard Drive is base with 2.0GHz, 120GB is base HD included with 2.1GHz

2.0GHz model features Intel Core 2 Duo Processor *w/4MB* of Shared L2 Cache
2.1GHz model features Intel Core 2 Duo Processor *w/3MB* of Shared L2 Cache

As you may have noticed, the L2 Processor cache size is actually less in the
new model. Related to this reduced cache size, should you decide to upgrade
your order to a new 2.1GHz model - we highly recommend you also choose the
4.0GB Memory upgrade option as well when configuring.

Application testing we have completed so far shows that the new 2.1GHz can
actually be slower than the prior 2.0GHz model running PhotoShop and other
applications when comparing system configurations equally equipped with
1.0GB or 2.0GB of memory. Testing with 4.0GB has not been completed, but
based on new model 2.4GHz testing results - a 4 to 6% performance benefit is
expected to be realized with a 4.0GB memory equipped model 2.1GHz model
configuration vs. an equally configured 2.0GHz configuration.

Our full real-world test series will be completed and then published online
by Tuesday, March 4th where they will then be viewable here:

be applied at the time of final processing and invoicing. This discount will
not be included in the price that will display for your new 2.0GHz
configuration, but will be applied to reduce the final system price when we
process and invoice your order.

C> Change your order to either of the new 2.1GHz or 2.4GHz options.

Without losing your position in our queue, you can change your current order
to a new, custom configured 2.1GHz or 2.4Ghz Modbook model. Please note that
no special discount applies to either of these newly available models.

You may also, of course, choose to cancel your Modbook order at this time.
As is our standard policy, we do not charge your credit card for an order
prior to it shipping. While your credit card will be authorized when it goes
into build, no charge will occur until the day it is shipped.

At this time we are currently shipping orders for both Modbook 2.0GHz and
Modbook 2.2GHz systems daily. Although changing to one of the new 2.1GHz or
2.4GHz will not affect your position in our queue (orders are fulfilled on a
first in, first out basis), we currently expect it will be 2-3 weeks before
availability allows us to begin shipping these new 2.1GHz and 2.4GHz models.

僕の所へもメールが届きました。
微妙なスピードアップよりも、早く届いて欲しいので2.0GHのままという指定にしました。

先ほどOWCから出荷メールが来ました！
Fedexで発送をお願いしたのですがどれくらいで届くんでしょうか。楽しみです。
皆さんの所はどうですか？

CHOCOさんの書き込みを、見落としいて、今拝見しました。
（到着しました！のトビも、先ほど拝見しました）

僕のところには、未だ届かずで、
OWCから、昨日になって、カードの有効期限切れのメールが届きました。

確かに注文した時点では、有効期限が2008年2月までのカードでしたが、
その後、更新されているので、大丈夫だと思っていたのですが。。。

どうやったら、別のカードで支払いできるか、
メールで問い合わせ中ですが、
英語が伝わるか、心配している状態です。

9でコメントしたo_umiです。
Modbookを購入する人が増えて、情報交換ができれば良いなと思っているので、
その後の経過を、ご報告をさせていただきます。

まず、別のカードで支払いが出来るか、質問メールを送ったところ、
「別のカードなら支払いできるかも知れません」（超訳）という返事が来ましたが、
あまり親切なサポートではないようで、どんな手続きをすれば良いのかは、書かれていませんでした。

どんな手続きをしたら良いのか、あらためてメールで質問したところ、
「電話かメールかファックスで、クレジットカード番号を教えろ」（超訳）という返事が来ました。

そのような手段で、クレジットカード番号を教えるのは不安でしたが、
他に手段が無いのと、Modbookを買ったら、利用限度額は、さほど残っていないので
いざとなったらカードを止めれば良いと腹をくくり、メールで教えました。

すると、
カードは通ったが、お客様が利用しているクレジットカードは、
国際的な確認プログラムに参加していないので、
書類に名前、住所等を記載し、
カードのコピーと、写真付き身分証明書のコピーを
メールかファックスで送るよう指示があり、
その書類が、PDFで送られて来ました。

これも不安でしたが、しょうがないので記載し、メールで返送。

すぐに、「48時間以内に確認が出来ます」というメールが来ましたが、
5日たっても（土日を挟んでいたので、5日待ちました）音沙汰がないので
昨日、どうなっているかと、メールを送りました。

すると、日本時間で今日AM2：30頃、
「まもなく発送される、発送されたらメールが送信される」というメールが届き、
日本時間で今日AM10：30頃、出荷された旨のメールが届きました。

ちなみに、そのメールに記載されていた、FedExの伝票番号のようなリンクにアクセスすると、到着予定が、12日PM6：00頃となっていました。

問い合わせをしなかったら、まだ放置されていたのかと、疑ってしまいましたが、
あとは、無事到着するのを待つばかりです。
到着しましたら、「到着しました！」のトピックで、ご報告したいと思います。
