■Free Bledisloe tickets offered to fill half-empty stadium
ORGANISERS are likely to give away prized Bledisloe Cup tickets to bolster a poor crowd in Tokyo on Saturday when the Wallabies run out with comeback winger Digby Ioane.
Inflated prices for tickets have turned off Japanese sports followers and left organisers in the embarrassing situation of selling less than half the 57,000 seats at the city's Olympic stadium.
There has been little take-up by students of the expensive yen7000 ($82) seats in the lesser price category.
Giveaways to schoolkids or a yen1000 - $12 per ticket fire sale of tickets to students is likely to pump up the attendance.
