☆ENGLISH ONLY☆コミュのNorth Korea rocket/missile test

Friday saw North Korea attempt to launch into orbit, depending on who you talk with, a rocket, a missile and/or a giant phallus. Anti-missile batterieswere set up around Tokyo and other areas in Japan, and long after the launch was visually confirmed, it was learned that the government's warning systems hadn't been activated.

What does everyone think about the hype? Or does it point to a broader issue about the effectiveness of communication in Japan?

If the weapon is junk, why did Japan spend so much time, effort, and money in setting up defenses against it? Was it all just a show for the public?

I don't live in Japan, but this was on the news....this rocket was going to go over cross Australia, and no one here seemed care about it. I did think about the possibility of the rocket landing to Australia for a second, but then there is nothing I can do anyway.

I feel sorry for the poor people in North Korea, who are starving to death everyday, while the gov spending millions of money for the stupid rocket!

I think people would have far more reasons to be afraid if they suddenly decided to launch carrots in the general direction of Japan from the Korean coast...

It is a shame the new north Korean president is not trying to make amends with the world and become apart of it instead of the black sheep. He didstudy abroad and must of seen how most people perceive his country.
I guess it's the generals that run the place not him.

And I agree the poor people, which is any one thats not in the military suffer because of the north korean heads vendetta against Ameri
ca and the world.

As much as N.Korea has been so successful in showing humiliation to the world, the Japanese media act like shit. Look at all this anxiety they have created..they never know how to tell news. what a shame.

Given N.Korea's economy there is nothing for it to gain if they attack Japanese cities. They don't have enough to feed their own people and keep making missiles that never even touch the sky.
All they care now is pretension, making the young leader look just like his grandfather and trying miserably to show that they still have power to surprise the world.

What a way to go.

I would say... just the government sucks.
And, this kinda stuff is always the question about "WHO the heck did choose this stupid shits to govern Japan ?"
