I have been to Bali 5 times. I recommend Pura Besakih
Also known as, “Mother Temple of Bali”, Pura Besakih is proudly known as a popular tourist attraction of Bali. Call it a temple or a sanctuary of Besakih, this place is considered one of the holiest and biggest Balinese temples. Set up on the slopes of Mt. Agung, Pura Besakih houses the Trinity shrines. Pay a visit at this temple to see Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva shrines along with 18 other separate sanctuaries of different caste groups. A series of steps leads you to this modern temple that comes alive on all the major festivals of Bali.
There are a lot of good restaurants in the capital of Denpasar. That is where you will find the cheapest places to eat. Warung Nasi Bali has very authentic Indonesian food and I often go.
I can probably find out more info for you if interested.
Kuta has a lot of resorts and a little pricier restaurants. There is a lot of nightlife for you as well.
Only I know about Bali is.. there is a famous liquor named "Arack(Alrack)" . It is spirits (distilled liquor) made from palm juice and rice. It is believed healthy and even dedicated to the god. So why don't you try it for your good memory and travel story as souvenir?
I'm not sure where you are from, but when I go to
Bali I only drink imported bottled water. Things
like Perrier or Evian. The food is brilliant but if you're
not used to it, that can also make you ill.
