Well, my girlfriend is Japanese, she just came back to Japan at beginning of Feb. i know there are many way to call to Japanese Landline for cheap price (Skype, etc..) what i want to know is that is there anyway to call Japanese Cellphone for free or real cheap? i have tried google voice, set it up on my girlfriend iphone, so now her phone has a US number, i can call her anytime but the sound quality is just sooo bad, took about 5 seconds for the other end to hear what i just said. so if you know away, please tell me
when i was living in hong kong that time, cheepest company was japanese company:KDDI. now KDDI open shop in usa (maybe) so u can try to serch KDDI USA in internet.
Well, you can text each other free, I know that much, cell phone to cell phone. You just have to send texts to her phone's email and she send to your phone number at the carrier you have (for example xxxxxxxxxxx@tmomail.net) You have to search online to find it. You can send pictures this way too, and its all free.
Calling is a problem. My boyfriend doesn't have internet in his area so for skype we have to buy credit and my cell phone doesn't have any internet or google voice so I cannot even use that. I would rather have what you had, to be able to at least talk to my boyfriend. I maybe can call him once a month at most.
thank for replying guy
TAC: yah i read through KDDI USA, it quiet expensive though, and pretty sure they cover japan landline but not sure about mobile land
UF獣医: ah yes i know about txt between japan and us mobile lol, but my girlfriend wont txt to my phone because she think she has to pay. i have tried to convince her that it is free but she still dont txt to my mobile lol and she doesnt like it when i txt from my phone to her phone also.......
Ame: yes we have skype but sometime it works sometime it doesnt... >< kind of weird
There is an application called Nimbuzz that can be installed on mobile phones and lets you use Skype. My Japanese friends installed it on their phones and I did on mine, so we can do international calls for free. All you need is good Internet connection, like WiFi or fast 3G.
I live in America, and my best friend in Japan just changed his phone so he can use skype on it because right when i'm on the computer at night, he has his break at work. lol
But we've noticed that there is a bit of a delay as well. I wouldn't say 5 seconds, but i would say about 2-3? However, when we talk on skype from computer to computer, there isn't a delay ^^
I think your girlfriend is a little strange, no offense, it cannot be shown its from mobile to mobile so there is no way that they could charge a fee to it. Ask her if she has to pay for texting to someone's email. If she doesn't, then it should also be free. It is the same as emailing basically. My boyfriend emails to my email accounts too, its basically the same thing.
Doesn't Skype work to call cell phones? It's a bit more expensive than calling landlines, but that's just how JP's phones are. You're paying the same cost you'd pay if you called from a Japanese phone.
