Wow, so now that mixi's outta beta, what does everyone think of the design and functionality?

I know, hey?! It kinda pissed me off how long it was in beta. And now that it isn't--aside from a few minor layout changes and the addition of "applications" (can't wait to see what gets ported from Facebook/MySpace to mixi!), I seriously don't see very many changes. Am I missing anything?

Think it's still hard to contact friends within mixi. The only thing that is usable is chatting in the community groups and the wall.

lol... hell yeah it was a loooong time in beta! i had a look on the login screen just a short while ago and, yep-- the ß is no longer to be found next to the mixi logo! about freakin' time, i was thinking.

still, i find the whole mixi thing rather cumbersome; probably because the last time i used a BBS style thing was when i was in high school--when i would log into a BBS via modem. lol. ancient history, hey!

How do you native speakers pronounce UFO?

I checked it up in a dictionary and found (ju:efou / ju:fou).

Some say ju:efou is used in America, not ju:fou. Please let me know.

Ah, the good ol' days of beta. When you didn't need a Japanese mobile to join and the layouts were more 2D and flat looking. And that's the way we liked it, haha.

(Do you really need a J-mobile to join now? I still can't believe it's that restrictive...)

I couldn't care less whether mixi was beta, alpha or omega. Realy, the only thing that matters for me is that it works and I can contact with friends. It's a website free of charges, so there is no reason to complain about
