A single girlfriend of mine came to visit last week and we had a great time doing all the fun touristy things in Seattle. I introduced her to a fireman friend of mine (cute, same age, single) and they got on really well.
They were perfectly suited for a holiday romance. She was only staying a week, they were both attractive and fun and obviously enjoyed each other's company. Unfortunately although they both really liked each other (my boyfriend and I kept hearing about it from them), they were both a bit shy when it comes to making the first move so finally, the night before she is leaving, very late after dinner, after drinks and after conversation has stopped they kissed and he stayed the night.
It was too late though!!! They only had a few hours together and both regretted the delay!
How do you start a holiday fling? Do you have a great holiday romance story?
My apologies. I've heard other people use that phrase for casual sex, that's why I misunderstood.
If it really is romance, then it's a beautiful thing!
I hope they can stay in contact.
I guess I should add my own story:
I'm from New Zealand. I met a Thai girl (born and raised in London though) while she was on holiday in NZ. We got on really well, but nothing happened. A year or 2 later, by chance she found me again on myspace. We started talking more and more often, which after a while became hours chatting on webcam every day, regular phone calls, and even posting letters.
After about 6 months of this, she mentioned that she was planning another holiday in NZ, but not for 6 months. I was so happy about it, but 6 months is a long time for an impatient person like myself. Over those 6 months, our feelings grew even stronger, and closer to the time she told me she wanted to get a working holiday visa so she could stay here longer if things work out with me.
True to her word, she came to NZ, and we were wonderful together. After her visa ran out, I waited around in NZ for 5 months while I was saving money for my visa to London, and that's why I'm in London right now.
Unfortunately things didn't work out in the end. That was not because of either of us, just a lot of external influences that couldn't be avoided.
What I'm trying to say is even if people take it slow, the end of the holiday doesn't have to be the end of the romance. Someone moved to the other side of the world for me, and I did the same for her.
Oh, and if anyone is curious, neither of us is desperate, strange, or immature. She is really hot too. As for me, well, let's just say she must have really liked my personality...
i met my boyfriend when i took an after Christmas trip to the mountains 120 miles away from my home. We have been long distance since December 2006. We see eachother monthly and in September we are finally moving in together and we are planning a wedding for summer of 2009.
Some really nice holiday romance stories - great for summer! CJ and MacKenzie - good luck! How very exciting for you both!
#8 Yeah I understood why he thought they had sex, didn't think that it really mattered whether they did or not, everyone has their own way, right? Is casual sex something to be ashamed of again?!! Dear me, makes me feel old as thought people had become less judgemental of others...
First off, if your far away from home, theres not excuse not to go all out. Chances, if you embarrass yourself, you'll never see that person again anyway. But if it works, well then, who knows? It's a high hurdle at first but you can settle into an uninhibited mentality easily after some practice.
From my own experience, holiday fling lasts and stays beautifully in your memory when you resisit having sex.
In this day and age, traveling isn't that hard. Holiday fling doesn't have to end there. I suggest these cute couple to continue communicating via e-mail. Or better yet, set up webcams and plan a nice candle-light dinner together in front of the camera. Good luck!
I've got no idea, but I wish I could figure it out. I've got about 4 weeks left in Japan (of a 10 month stay), and I haven't seen anyone while I"ve been here. It'd be pretty sweet for something to happen here at the end, even if it is a bit late.
Casual sex. flings, one night stands or what ever.........we've all had them at some point in our lives.
If these experiences continues into a healthy strong relationship then that can only be a good thing.....right?
If not and it was just fun at the time we have to be mature and strong enough to move on and not let past events interfere with future relationships stay as friends or if that isn't possible forget, learn and move on and above all just be honest too yourself.
I love almost all the woman walkin on the beach showing off their legs.
so there wont be any casual sex, because i truely love them.yeah i do.
i cant define what is love and what is to be being horny.
I do not believe that all relationship are meant to last “forever.” I think that most of the relationships in our lives are like a train ride; they take us from one stop to the next. It is important to know when to get on the train and when it’s time to exit. I want to learn what I can from the experience and move forward in my life without any regrets! I use these simple words to guide me in my life:
I choose to always learn from my past experiences in life.
(As long as I learn something from my experiences in life I consider it to be a positive experience.)
I choose to always plan (prepare) for my future experiences in life.
(I use what I learn from my past experiences, my learning experiences to prepare as much as possible for my future experiences.)
However, I choose to always live my life one precious moment at a time!
Things turnout they way things turnout. If the right vibe was there they would have gone for it before the last moment. Some people need more time before they jump each others bones. Nothing wrong with that. It makes it that much better when or if it happens later on down the line. There is nothing like the first few times in most cases. So it should be right. Unfortunately most couples have a hard time keeping that flame burning throughout a long relationship. It can happen, but usually not with the person you are suppose to be with :) Thats why I think it`s fine to take your time. Don`t jump the gun. Anticipation is the best part. They will get together later if it is meant to be.
I don't believe in that whole "if it is meant to be" line. It means you're destined for one person, so if you do nothing at all, you'll still end up with that one person.
I think relationships are a mixture of work, good timing, and a measure of good luck. Some relationships would never have happened if the situations weren't right, regardless if it is the same two people you're talking about. Sometimes people are just at different points in their lives, or are looking for different things, and it just makes it incompatible.
Back on topic with summer flings, I think it is nice to have that relationship without all the stress of something long term. Causal is so much more relaxed.
I really agree with you about timing and luck! The situation does have to work out for both of you...and sometimes the guy you would never look at when you were younger becomes the perfect guy when you are older. And yeah, there is something nice about summer flings, the sun, people are relaxed...no expectations.
I met a girl in Laos on the night of new year day 3 years ago.
We just walked around and talked together seeing the stars for a while there.
We are both from Tokyo, so after coming back we met a lot, and after 6 monthes, we got married
I don't think our case is "holiday romance". because nothing special there. just walking and talking. it was just a starting point for us.
But that's why we lasted long.
My wife is saying now that if I touched to her even a finger there, she wouldn't have never met me again in Tokyo.
Holiday romance is good, but it wont last long.
Because holiday is holiday, it's not the place they are supposed to be in, so you cannot see the real figure of the other.
So, Sarah's girlfriend's case, it might delayed a little, but they will last long
