So I was bored enough to come up with a stupid idea to localize Japanese locations. Maybe you would have better ideas for where you live rather than written in Japanese.

I avoided the direct translation but considered the actual context behind the names Cool?

i.e.
Eastern Capital Special 23 Wards(東京特別23区)

Adachi(足立区)=Reedsburg
Arakawa(荒川区)=Wildriver
Itabashi(板橋区)=Woodenbridge
Edogawa(江戸川区)=Yedoriver
Ota(大田区)=Grandfield
Katsushika(葛飾区)=Vinebank
Kita(北区)=North Town
koto(江東区)=East Wildriver
Shinagawa(品川区)= City of Riverside Market
Shibuya(渋谷区)=Rufousvalley
Shinjuku(新宿区)=Naito Newinn
Suginami(杉並区)=Ceadarway
Sumida(墨田区)=Estuaryland
Setagaya(世田谷区)=High-valleyfield
Daito(台東区)=Eastvalley
Chuou(中央区)=Centralle
Chiyoda(千代田区)=Millenian
Toshima(豊島区)=Richland
Nakano(中野区)=Central Terrace
Nerima(練馬区)=Marshclay
Bunkyo(文京区)=Erudionne
Minato(港区)=Harborside
Meguro(目黒区)=Blackorb

Your feedback is welcome if you have the better idea .

I am from Northbeach. Haha! (静岡県旧浜北市)
Where are you from?

Ah yes, name your town if you don’t know what it means.
I'll help ya out.

Remeber, it's a localization haha! forget about translating directly.

I'd put it like
Hachioji(八王子)= Octo-Royals
Kunitachi(国立) is based on Kokubunji(国分寺)+tachikawa(立川)
and 国を立てる Province building

Kunitachi(国立) =Province house
is more like it.
I prefer Ota (大田区) = Broadmeadows

Brings a touch of Melbourne to Tokyo.
目黒区 - shouldn't that be Black Eye suburb...? Sounds like a rough neighbourhood.

One of my fav.s is お茶の水 ("water for tea"or "tea's water").
BTW, I have lived in Rope Island (綱島) and Little Wishing Pond (小金井市)
Shizuoka(静岡)= Clivus Tranquillitatis is inspiered by Mare Tranquillitatis (Latin for Sea of Tranquility, a name of a lunar mare) or Collina de l Piano in Italiano(?) connote latain temperament of Shizuoka, right?
nice, I like broadmeadows.

Meguro derives from 目黒本尊 which is a statue with black eyes.
i thought Blackorb sounds more soothing than black eye where you don't want to wander around at night. haha! although it does sound like a madball that a creepy fortuneteller would use
That latin words are such mambo jumbo for people to remember
nice sounding though...

I am assuming that Collina is female so i could be just Collina piana maybe?
I dunno shit about itallian hehe

So here is the template for Japanese Prefectures..
Fill in as you like!

Just a friendly reminder....

Localizing nouns, (especially location) must be "SIMPLE"and "EASY" as possible.
Preferably one word if possible, too.

Avoid the direct translation. i,e. 青森県=Blue Forrest

This is like, non-creative, the lamest of the lame.
Be creative alright? try to understand the history or the cultural context behind these names.

Good luck! just do it for fun. haha
