Wow...I didn't realize there were so many posts on this
thread lol. If you're curious, see if you can join that
community, do a few of his translation problems, and you
will see what we mean. I don't know if he'd accept a
native English speaker though. Boro ga dechaumonne....
I didn't know about that community or "cool-jun" until I read this. Wow... He IS really narrow-minded! What's he gonna do when he meets Southerners!!(in America.) He MIGHT COULD change his mind...
> a big trouble with communication, no matter what language
Oh gee, that reminds me of a few other people in other English-related communities ... LOL. Why is it always the language community? Maybe I'm missing something ... *sigh*
Anyway, while the topic is up ... I was surprised that nobody said anyting about anti-"大人の Cool -英語 &英会話" community?
I was kicked out of that community. recently.
Because I also joined one of the "anti" community.
Before that I've never post anything to both communities.
There're many other people like me.
He and his followers check members of both communities.
>He and his followers check members of both communities.
woooo....it's really frightening.
I'm getting freaked out here. I usually check visitors of my page, tracing back their footprint, just out of curiosity. I happened to found out that some visitors were joining that community. I hope that doesn't mean I'm being watched by them.... I'm just happy to have any visitor to my page. Let just not bring any negative intention to this community. We are here because we want to share whatever the topic posted in this community. I want to have a peace in my mind...
>Wakana-san
Sorry this has nothing to do with the topic here, but I used to watch that show! (though I didn't remember the name...) It was on a cable tv called OkiDoki TV. It's a shame they finished broadcasting it.
Wow!
I've been waiting this kind of topic!!!
I check this community, 大人の Cool -英語 &英会話 every day.
It is useful.
But I don't really like "cool-jun".
He is a bit arrogant.
He deletes comments that it's inconvenient for him.
I can't believe this!
He must have a narrow mind.
Kids in the Hall is a bit old, but its re-run was on all the time, wasn't it? Especially when Dave was on Newsradio, related stations were running KITH during the daytime everyday. And thus, me the Dave-fan watched it everyday, too. (^^;
Newsradio. I just finished watching the 1st, 2nd seasons on DVD. Some pretty funny moments. Phil Hartman was a funny man. What a horrible way to go. RIP.
I love Stephen Root. He is funny. He was great in Dodgeball and Office Space. His work on King of the Hill is also very funny.
Looks like stupidity prevails. The commnunity called "大人の英会話 ウォッチ," which tries to reveal the true colours of the "Cool Jun" commnunity, has been deleted by the Mixi admin without warning. The admin of the commnunity was not contacted regarding the deletion, before or after it happened.
Apparently Cool Jun complained about it to the Mixi admin. What puzzles me is, how did Mixi decide to be on his side without doing any due diligence? If they have a brain half the size of that of a monkey, they should be able to figure out who's really to blame here.
Not accepting construtive comments and eliminating these kinds of members... sounds like a freakin cult to me.
I guess it's okay to do whatever they wish in their own community, but it certainly is sad to see people deceived by them.
Exactly! The real issue here is, not only does he do whatever he wants to within his own freakin' community, he also SUCCESSFULLY convinced the Mixi admin to shut down the community that has been rightfully criticizing him. They sure should know better.
What gets me is that over 5000 people are a part of that
cult!! He acts like a total a-hole, putting people down
and dishing out UNconstructive criticism, deleting posts
that admonish him or his teaching methods, and when he's
questioned about his teaching credentials, he really
can't come up with an answer. He probably can't even
speak English!! And now this? Mixi really let me down.
I mean, not even a warning before deletion? Maybe there
is a Jun-cult member in mixi admin? I wouldn't doubt it
at all!
Me, too.
It also called to my mind that same things might have happened to FOX, the first moderator of "子供のhot 英会話." He has suddenly gone, and it might have been forced.
Oh baloney...
What a sad thing happened to mixi. We shall have no remorse over that community. The head of community must have a good understanding of dictatorship. He's just a tyrant... Manipulation, that's all he could possibily do.
When I first joined Mixi, I almost joined that community, but it just seemed like a weekly phrase without much context to put it in, with 23 versions of the 'answer' is revealed. I really liked the ideas behind this community. Even though I'm a native English speaker, I actually find it difficult to use just English some times. I've been in Japan too long...
Kuniさん>
Honestly, I don't know why he would be leaving his footprint on your page. Sometimes I randomly jump around from time to time leaving my footprints on all sorts of strange places and interesting people. I wouldn't worry about it unless you started getting strange mail!
It is possible for someone to leave footprints on people in related sites to try to pull them to theirs.
I went to Kuni-san's page just now and found it really sexy!!! lol... sorry.
By the way, I got a footprint by the Cool-English Lecturer as well, although I have nothing to do with his community either. I guess it's just because he found my name at some English-related community and feel like having a look at my page. I don't care 'bout that.
What's cool? Nothing is cool really, in other words, everybody's cool. I think making mistakes is cool 'cause nobody can step forward without mistakes anyway. I luv 'em. Jimmie
