Hello,

this is my first time to make a topic in this community.

Anyway,

I'm now in Canada,

and often hearing people say "hey! whats up".

My question is

"how do you response when somebody asks you "what's up"".

i would want answers from native english speakers, if possibe.
But if any of you have been studied in countries where english are the first language,
I would also like to have answers from you.

I really appriciate for the people who help me with this question.

Thanx

It should be 'respond' not 'response'. :D

I think the majority would usually say something along "Nothing much, yourself?".
I guess it really depends on the situation though.
just respond back with "what's up"

it's just an expression that is used to notice someone
and say something to them as a greeting.

seems like "nothing much" is what ppl usually say

ill just respond like that
or say sth else :)
You don't really have to "respond", to be honest. Stuff like this is common:

A: Hey, what's up?
B: Oh hi, how are you?

It's more of a greeting than a question.
Nothing much, just been working alot lately/studying/getting fat eating western food. How about you? わーい(嬉しい顔)
Everyone is right. People say "Nothin' much, you?" But even just saying "What's up?" back to them is fine, too. It doesn't even mean "How are you?" even though it's suppose to. It's more like "Hey", or "Hi". Just to greet someone. Don't feel pressured to respond with an answer.
The response is usually not an answer to the question. I would just say, "hey man, how are u?" or "hey, doing good, u?" something real casual. Its kinda like how in Japan guys greet each other with sounds like, よっ! etc.

At least, this is what I think.
