☆ENGLISH ONLY☆コミュのThe Worst Coffee in the World.

I was in a coffee shop in Balmain (suburb of Sydney) a couple of years
ago, waiting for my flat white when a man walked in and ordered a
skinny soy decaffeinated latte. The barista looked at him and then said,
"Get out!".
I got chatting to him and he said he had studied in Italy to become a
barista. He had a special blend of beans made just for him. He paid
great attention to milk temperature and at the end of it all he practised
for hours to create new and interesting designs in the froth as he
poured the milk.....and then someone comes in and ruins it all by
ordering a skinny soy decaffeinated latte.
The coffee in Sydney is actually pretty good. I don't think it's the best
in the world, I think maybe France or Italy can claim that title. I've never
been to Italy, but it just seems like they should be the best.
But why is the coffee in Japan so awful? It's not quite as bad as the
United States but it's pretty bad. Or am I just going to the wrong
shops? Where in Japan do I have to go to get a decent cup of
coffee?

WHAT???????????

coffee in cans that are sold in Japan are great!!!
neck 5 of those before hitting the clubs and you're up all night! It's like a healthy version of Redbull (maybe not healthy, but slightly less bad then redbull)

But yeah, I think Europe definitely holds the title for the worlds best coffees. Italy is probably the best.....however i also think the italians are the most pretentious about it though. France and England are on par (as long as you visit proper coffee shops and not things like starbucks, costa, nero and the other chains scattered around the UK and Europe (UK isn't part of Europe, hence why i say both)
I am not sure where to go for the world's best coffee, but I can easily tell you how to find the worst. Hit any Denny's in the U.S. LOL
I think the canned coffee is quite drinkable. It doesn't compare to a
proper coffee made by a barista but it compares quite well with a
better quality instant coffee.
What I don't get is that Japan took consumer electronics and basically
made it their own. Now if you want to buy a TV, chances are it's from
a Japanese company. They did the same with the automotive industry.
But with coffee they've basically just copied the worst in the world
and said this will do
I must agree on the canned stuff, but, some of the coffee I've had in Japan was pretty dreadful. Yeah, I think some government department should be setup to fix coffee in Japan.
My favorite coffee is Trung Nguyen from Vietnam. The local Asian market used to sell it in cans but they started selling it in bags a few months ago. I can't really tell a difference between canned and bagged.
Either way, it's a LOT better than the ultra-weak "アメリカのコーヒー" crap they serve at work.

I hope they sell Trung Nguyen in Japan so I don't have to order it when I move to there.
Japanese can coffee 〉Starbucks sludge.

You can get nice coffee here but it's in small places. I know a lovely place in Shinsaibashi 指でOK

Colombian is the best!
I love Viet Namese iced coffee....they make it with condensed milk. I'm
actually going out tonight with some friends to a great little Pho restaurant
and they make a really good Viet Namese iced coffee.
It was a little surprise to find out, even McDonald's serve a real coffee in Belgium.
Why can't Japanese shops do the same thing?

I suggest you to buy a Nespresso machine for yourself, or go to "Cafe La Mille", they serves rather good ones.

The barista sounds like he can make a mean coffee, but a total ****. I know that was not the point of the story, but the poor customer probably didn't know what the deal was, as if it was his job to know! I hope karma caught up with the barista.

As for coffee in Japan..... Yes, canned coffee in Japan is the bomb!
Yeah, the guy probably was probably on the receiving end of
the angst caused by the previous 20,000 people who ordered
skinny soy decaf lattes.
I didn't mention it but the barista had put up a sign that said
"No Soy, No Decaf, No Skim Milk". He also mentioned that
he kept one litre of soy milk for a few of customers who
were lactose intolerant.
And khamma eventually gets everyone.....who knows,
the customer might have been the frustrated barista in a
previous life.
"Bad coffee" does NOT exist to me...
No matter who serves
