This may sound like young Japanese girl, looking for some good looking boys (white or black or dark olive skin), but I am desperate about the places and chances.
I speak fluent enough English to teach usual Japanese student and translate Japanese to English. I know, however, I need a little more improvement.
Is there any group like book clubs that I can chat other than NOVA? I am fun person to talk with, I think. Invite me to some meeting if you know any good for middle aged woman.
Have you tried the English conversation cafes?
I used to work at Mickey house (in Takadanobaba) and Com'Inn (In Ebisu)
It's like a cafe and you sit and chat with foreigers and other Japanese people :-)
Of course you have to pay, though...
Mickey house was 500 yen and Com'Inn a bit more expensive, if I remember correctly :-)
Also, you could offer free Japanese lessons for beginners. Then you can explain the Grammar and stuff to them in English.
Or you could work as a baby sitter for expats. I'm sure there are some desperately looking for baby sitters :-)
Well, just some weird ideas. I'm sorry I can't give better advice. m(_ _)m
I looked at your personal profile, but where do you live?
I live in Okayama, so if you also live close to me, we can meet and chat together at a cafe or somewhere.
If not..., then, if any chance to come to Okayama, drop me a line!!
If our time meets, let's talk in English!!
>Thank you カリュー
I know where Mickey house and have tried once.
They are good, but I only go to Takatababa once a week and can't always make time to visit them.
But I'll try again.
> Thanks Rage
If you have any event that I can join, tell me please.
and Thank you Kokko
I live in Tokyo. Drop me a note when you are coming to Tokyo.
It sounds funny, but I had more chance to speak English when I was in Oita. Sometimes small community works better. Everyone in Tokyo is busy including me and it is rather hard to find time to chat.
Are you looking for specifically foreigners to talk to, or Japanese that are bilingual as well?? Where do you live and work? As you mentioned above, Tokyo and the people living here are indeed quite busy eh? :) Depending on where you work, live, the rout you take etc, I don't mind meeting and chatting*** Although it's really weird ... or should I say NEW to me to chat in English with Japanese people.lol hehe
