Last week, I had a foreign guest who visited Japan for the first time. As always, I took him out to dine and showed him a night scene of a big city in Japan. This person had well prepared and studied Japanese entertainment business before coming here. At every alley in the town, he asked me a lot about this and that and there seemed to be no end of his curiosity. Got tired in answering to his endless questions, I took him to a pin ball game to refresh myself.
Next day, in his kick-off of seminar talk, he thanked for the hospitality he got by saying “I really enjoyed that Ochinko last night”.
rajio: I have a similar story, though not so embarrassing. I gave an oral report on bento for my Japanese class and accidentally mixed up ninjin with ningen. www
I talked to a tourist who had apparently no clues where he was and I directed his destination. He tried to utter some words to express his appreciation, and mumbled "crocodile".
I confess.. hmm.. that I spend too much money on Japanese Gothic Lolita dresses.. I swear I'm turning more and more into Momoko from Kemikaze Girls everyday (@_@) But well, as long as it makes me happy I don't really see any wrongs in it, it's what I want so, no regrets.
I confess... I gave a little advice to a Japanese learner who had difficulties in reading katakana that reading anything you see in town would help her. She eagerly started and read aloud "Chinko." I saw パ in パチンコ sign was out of order.
And I confess that I did not make face when my girls started wearing Gothic Lolita dresses and going to cosupure events. I even made friends with the sales clerk in Attlee BOZ Shibuya.
I think my girls can be your good friends, Rori-chan.
>>Rori-chan
My friend Mel often wears gosurori. I think it
is usually pretty cool but there are some things
that are totally whacked.
Maybe I'm too old but the eye colour changes
sometimes freak me out.
