I always get sucked into those topics about war, and they always end up being completely unresolved. Nobody ever changes their mind it always just ends up where it began.
Anyway something I am interested in is Japanese books. What are your 5 favourites? I don't care if they are in translations, in the original Japanese, English books about Japan, manga or whatever.
For me, it would be
1. "Suteppu Fazaa Suteppu" (Step Father Step) by Miyabe Miyuki (Japanese)
2. "Underground" by Murakami Haruki (English)
3. "Musashi" by Yoshikawa Eiji (English)
4. "Dakara Anata mo Ikinuite" by Ohira Mitsuyo (Japanese)
"Slum Dunk" by Takehiko Inoue (Japanese)
"Amadeus" by Peter Shaffer (English)
"Cesare Borgia: arui ha yuga naru reikoku (or graceful cold-bloodness)" by Nanami Shiono (Japanese)
"California Story" by Akimi Yoshida (Japanese)
"Out of Africa" by Isak Dinesen (English)
These are today's best.
Tomorrow they must be changed.
"Shimotsuma Monogatari" by Novala Takemoto
"Ring 0 - Birthday" by Koji Suzuki
"Geisha of Gion" by Mineko Iwasaki
"Memoirs of a Geisha" by Arthur Golden
"Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge"(manga) by Tomoko
Hayakawa
Hmm... :
1. Sherlock Holmes
2. The Lord of The Rings
3. Taiko & Musashi (both by Yoshikawa Eiji)
4. Death Note (and One Piece too)
5. The Three Kingdoms
