hi☆ i am university student and i love English. but i cannot speak English fluently so i want to make friends who are from abroad and practice my English skill.
then, when i entered university i belonged to the club which japanese students and students from abroad can make friends through some events. but we dont have common topic so it is hard for me to find topics when i talk to students from abroad whom i meet first. what do you guys think?
are you coming to study in America? if so where? I'm sorry if this is forward. I have this sort of problem in the international club. See we have meetings but it is to talk about what we will do next. I do not really talk to the members outside of the meetings. I am too shy, face to face with people. It sounds kind of dumb, but I guess what we need to do is find out what they like to do maybe. See I am not international but since America is a country we can join the international club. So it is weird. I feel so dumb because I am one of only 4 Americans who are in it, so I feel uncomfortable to speek, because I am afraid to say something wrong, but maybe that is exactly what we must do. Say something and try to see if others understand. Yes? I don't know if this helped but I hope it does. Everyone feels awkwerd speeking and meeting new people, just others can hide it better then some people. ^_^

just go do something like go bowling! have fun and you'll start to talk naturally. you can't go to some place and say "let's talk!"
next week will be a series of tasks: go to the corner store and buy laundry detergent. then find a working water fountain. when no one's working, you sneak it in the fountain, and run away.
doing silly things will force you to find common ground even finding detergent that you prefer.
Hi I am from Italy I love English too because is a tool of comunication with many people coming from different country.
I am in MIxi only from yesterday evening so I don't know how is works, friend of me fromJapan invite me.
