Do you want to be a native speaker??? I guess many Japanese want to be and think it's cool, right? Yup, it's true but many of you almost give up... That's wrong!!!!
Hi tosh-san.

・Let it be.

こういった言葉が好きです。
ものまねですか〜。
自分も高校時代の先生や、アニメキャラクターとか出来ますよv
早速ツタヤ行って映画借りて真似してみようかと思います♪
>trixさん、Don't worry です!Everyone makes mistakes, you konw!! Don't hesitate to make mistakes!!
間違えることを怖がらないで、ドンドン間違えよう!
>エマさん、本当にその通りかもしれないですね(笑)
You're so right!! but maybe it's hard to find good teachers and friends in Japan...
I think English schools in Japan are very expensive!!
My student used to pay about 8000 yen for private lessons. That's crazy!!!
でも日本で良い先生やネイティブの友達にめぐり合うのってすごく難しいですよね。。。かといって英会話スクールは結構高いって聞きますし。僕の生徒さんも昔英会話スクールでマンツーマンレッスンを受けていて8千円くらい払ってたって言ってました。それはかなり高いですよね・・・。
歌の物真似はアップテンポのよりスローテンポを最初は真似した方が発音もしやすいぞ!
Try to sing at a slow tempo than up tempo!
It's easier to pronounce.
How do you do!
I'm ター. I found this community. Seems like it's interesting and funny for me. And I want to enjoy talking with a lot of people all over the world.
I started to learn English about a year ago. I have exchanged emails with a few friends abroad. But my English skills isn't still improved. I think this community is very useful and meaningful to learn the English language.
My name is さえきどん.
I married Canadian last year.
My English is not really good as everybody expects, becase I'm lazy.
I use English only when I talk with my husband.
So I hope I can practice writing and reading with you guys in a enjoyable way!
>Hi さえきどんさん、It's Tosh, nice to meet you!
How did you meet your husband??
If you don't mind, pls share with us about your episode how you study English or your own experiences.
Looking forward to it!
Hi, I just joined this community.
I've never used "what's up, man" because this one sounds like a guy phrase. I do hear some women say it but still...
I use the other phrases often.
Speaking of the pronunciation, I think easy way to learn is listening to how native speakers do. That's what I found out.
But I am having a hard time with pronuncing words start with 'W', such as wood.
I got a compliment about my pronunciation of English before, but I still think my 'W' sound is not good at all.
My roommate used to live in Canada for 8 years when she was little. Everytime when I hear her 'W' sound, I feel like why can't I....
Does someone know how to fix?
Hey Yumi, I guess the best way is to try to speak with words that start with a "w" more often. I know it is not very good advice, but it usually does help.
With my students, I ask them to repeat phrases quickly with words they can not pronounce. Over time, they start to get it!
Example:
Try saying a sentence like:
Why would we worry about William when we were having a wonderful time.
Try saying it faster and faster. If you have a teacher, ask him/her to check if your pronunciation is ok.
Hello,everybody.
I do not think we must speak in native English.
Because it is too difficult.
I mean if we can comunicate with the people who speak in English very well, it is ok.
Do not worry about you pronunciation.
Maybe vocabulary is more important than pronunciation.
Am I right?
For example, when I was teaching a lesson today, I wanted to say the word "opposite" in Japanese. However, I accidentally said "hentai" instead of "hantai". Of course, I do know the "vocabulary" and meaning of the two but a little mistake with pronunciation did make me feel like an idiot. I know I know.. I shouldnt feel so but I do!
