Many Japanese manufacturers are concerned that their profits could decrease as the yen continues to rise against the US dollar.
Japanese auto and electronics manufacturers rely on exports for growth.
Toyota Motor Corporation says their annual operating profit will fall by 360 million dollars for every 1 yen appreciation.
Honda and Nissan could also lose 206 million dollars and 144 million dollars, respectively.
Electronics manufacturer Sony Corporation says it will see its profit reduced by 61 million dollars for 1 yen surge against the dollar, while Hitachi says it will lose 51 million dollars.
The firms say the impact of the yen's appreciation on their annual earnings will be limited this business year, which ends in March.
However, they are concerned that a further appreciation of the yen could seriously affect their earnings the next business year.
Japanese manufacturers have transferred some of their production bases abroad to avert the risk of currency fluctuations.
But the value of their profit earnings abroad will be reduced if the dollar continues to weaken.
