すこし経ってしまいましたが、レーベルメイトのMixtapes & CellmatesがQuince Recordsさんから日本盤を出してます。個人的にたのしみなairiel（ウルリヒの曲あり）の新作も9月にリリースしたり、Quinceさんとても活発です。

The members of aerial teams up again after a short break from the band during the summer.
Victor hangs out at his sisters, feeding the cat's and producing fine audiovisual art. Joakim and Emil has been working on TGD full-length number 2. Markus has been, as always, hard at work drawing, cutting and pasting together the artwork for t-shirts, a new aerial homepage and whatnot. Sebastian (I) has recorded songs for an upcoming solo record and Niklas is sitting in his dark apartment, jerking around with synthezisers together with our good friend Joel.
On september the 15th we will go to Göterborg to record our third full-length release. The album is planned for release in early 2009.
This album, I think, will show a new and interesting direction in the creative process of the band. Since Niklas joined us shortly after the release of "the Sentinel" we have been writing songs in a quite different fashion. The strict and at times almost cold mechanical form of our previous record has dissolved into a more colorful and organic soundscape.
We will return shortly with tracklist, working title and other stuff related.

Aerial have switched Japanese label for their upcoming 3rd album. They have now signed with Flake Records in Japan. Another step away from the limited world of postrock. trust me, the new Aerial album will blow you away or as their booking agent put it "Im obsessed with the new songs, i know the whole album by heart. The most underrated band in Sweden EVER".

After five weeks of intense post-production, it's finally time to release the third Aerial full-length album. It will be a thirteen track piece called "Put it this way in Headlines" (a phrase borrowed from the great poet and visionary Allen Ginsberg). The music differs significantly from our earlier works. When we did promotion for our last record (the half hour post-rock experiment called "The Sentinel"), Joakim suddenly decided to go on a trip by himself to Peru. Aerial, in need of a bass playing substitute, called in old friend Niklas Wennerstrand.
We started writing songs together and when Joakim finally returned, Niklas refused to leave.
Aerial, now a quintet, started to sound differently than before. The stagnant post-rock scene seemed more and more uninteresting and the band started to make music in a more playful and unpretentious way. We've never really had a plan in making music, even though we've said so in interviews to look cool and academic, and every step we took led us further away from post-rock and anything related. We started thinking about press-shoots with us killing doves and played more untuned than ever, both mentally and instrumentally.
Some may say we have strolled off in our expression, but in fact this is where Aerial once started off. The Sentinel was the exception, and the new album connects seamlessly to the work we did on "Black Rain from the Bombing" and even earlier adventures. In fact, much of the material on the record is based on riffs and ideas from the BRFTB era.
This is the kind of music we grew up with and that we love.
"Put it this Way in Headlines" also marks a turning point for us in terms of recording. We spent only five days in studio with our good friend Stefan Aronsson, and made all post-production and vocals, synthesizers etc ourselves.
This is the closest to what we want to do with our sound that we have come yet. We hope you..ll like it as much as we do.
The album is due for release this fall, but will probably be available online sooner.

Mixtapes & Cellmates albumtitle revealed and new Aerial single revealed
Mixtapes & Cellmates 2nd album is titled ROX. We will release it this fall in all formats, CD/LP/DVD/MP3. Before the albumrelease there will be a single and video out. Expect that to be out in late September.
Aerial will have their first single from their 3rd album "Put it this way in headlines" out early September. The single is the song "All refrain". An amazing popsong with Aerial..s godlike signature guitarmelodies. A video for "All refrain" is made and will be released at the same time.
We will have another fantastic release out in September aswell from a new act on Nomethod. We will give you all the info very soon. Ecards, sendouts...very soon. It..s Nomethodology time. Believe.

2009年末〜2010年初頭リリースの3rdアルバム『Put It This Way In Headlines』リリース直後だけあって、その3rdのプロモーション〜お試しの紹介用的な内容となっていますが、「Baghdad Excerpt」「Disinterested Collector」の2曲のアルバム未収録曲(=未発表曲)も収録。3rdでPavement風のちょっと緩んでねじれたギターロックも見せていましたが、未発表曲2曲はそのPavement〜Built To Spill〜Modest Mouse〜PinbackなどのUSインディーの系譜に、スウェディッシュのギターロック〜ポストロックバンドらしい清涼感も少し加わったようなトラックに仕上がっています。パッケージはDVDケースくらいの見開きの段ボールで、表に3rdと同じアートワークの写真と裏にトラックリストなどが書かれた紙が貼ってあり、見開きの中はCD-Rサイズに穴がくりぬいてありそこに盤が収まっている、凝った手作り段ボールパッケージとなっています。ナンバリング入りの限定100枚でのリリースです。全7曲中5曲は3rdアルバム収録曲ですが、パッケージも所有欲をそそる凝った作りでなので、未発表曲2曲だけのEP と思っていただけてもファンのかたなら満足のEPだと思います。全7曲32分収録。
